John Watson horsetopia shows up under horses that are expensive. Uses words describing horses: does not bite, great for kids, he has lung cancer, gift from father, dressage training, does not buck, ridden by kids, I believ Winnipeg, Manitoba

I have been looking to purchase either a Friesian or Peruvian Paso horse.  Started checking into horse web sites that you can do a search.  I first noticed a gelding that was trained in dressage from Alberta for $1700.  He stated that horse was in Ab.  I called the ph # that night & the man that answered had broken english, sounded either drunk or I thought perhaps I had woken him up.  At first did not seem to know what I was asking about & then stated that the horse was sold. I was very disappointed & I still was curious about the horse thinking he may have some other leads for me.  He did not have answers so I ended the conversation.  By the way the pics were awesome, female riding, awarded in a horse show.

Next day I continued my search.  Friesian from Winnipeg; looked like the same horse pictures but I was so excited thinking there must have been some misunderstanding.  Immediately sent off an email.  He responded, John Watson, that he was selling his horse due to lung cancer.  The horse was a gift from his father.  A heart wrenching story & he asked questions about myself, my horse history.  Appeared to really wanted to be reassured that his horse was going to a good home.  It really motivated me to give my life story & that I related to the pain he was in & if he "chose" me Fhana would have a great life.

Next email I received was instructions related more to delivery instructions, requested my full name, home address, both phone numbers, state (his mistake...we are in Canada, provinces not states, zip code 9 not postal code).  He would arrange delivery asap & how I would pay $2000. to cover cost.  Flight ticket??  I'm rural, no flights directly to my home? Will come with a year health guarantee, saddle & papers.  I found it strange that $1700. purchase price was not mentioned again.  Bells & whistles are now telling me this is too good to be true.

I then received a ph call, asking if I had received his email.  Same voice as the person who had told me the horse was sold.  I then realized that the probability this was a scam came rushing to my head.  I emailed him back on a glimmer of hope that I needed proof of the horses existence, recent pic of horse with that days paper from Winnipeg with the horse.  Guess what, no confirmation.

Luckily no $ was sent, but I am so concerned about all of the other fools out there who will do most anything to own their dream horse.  Reality is hard, cold bitter.  Spent a lot of time, emotions on this but I still believe that there are good people out there but I know that the "deal" is probably not there.

I believe the scam will be in the shipping costs.

Is there a way they can access my computer through the emails I sent?
