We purchased a male English Bulldog puppy from Johnny Law in Mabank, Texas on 7/15/08. Out of litter born 5/29/08. Sire Goob's Honey Hustler AKC NM 90902702. Dam: Patty Cake Law AKC NP15864804. Two days after we bought the puppy sores started coming out all over the dog. We took the dog to our Vet. He said that the puppy had a VERY bad case of Demodectic Mange. He said the mange was genetic and was caused from the puppy drinking the mothers milk. He said that is how it is passed on. The vet also said the puppy had a hernia that was genetic. The puppy has to have surgery when it gets older. Also we are out the expense of cureing the mange. I contacted Johnny Law. He was rude and refused to do anything to help us out with the vet bills. He refused to even believe his dogs were at fault. He sells his dogs on Puppyfind.com and also out of the Canton Texas Flea Market. BUYERS BEWARE. Do not purchase a English Bulldog from this breeder. They do not honor their guarentee and they are selling sick dogs.

Well, it is more common than not for a bulldog to have at least one break out of demodex, usually when young, and people whom purchase one should be prepared for that fact. More common than not would make it normal for the breed I think. Also, umbilical hernia's are VERY common in bulldogs due to the c-section factor. Umbilical hernia's are not ONLY genetic. Also, depending on how big it is, it is not usually a major factor, and I am guessing the later indicates when he is fixed? So it may resolve and become non-repairable by that time. Please, when adopting a bulldog make sure your vet is aware of what is and is not normal for bulldogs, they have many, many other issues which may be considered normal for them, but a problem in other breeds. And try to make sure you are aware of these issues as well BEFORE you adopt a bulldog. It is not whether or not your bulldog has health issues, but how severe they are. *just my opinions*
