My daughter brought her car to Joseph's Pontiac in Norwell, MA for an inspection sticker. Their mechanic told her she needed a transmission overhaul because it was "slipping" - it would cost $2000.
As a diligent Dad, I drove her car to see for myself. The transmission shifted properly. Smooth and crisp without the slightest hint of transmission slippage. And in case you're wondering, I've had slipping transmissions before - I know exactly how they behave. This transmission is PERFECT.
As a small business owner myself, I know how damaging bad publicity can be, so I've waited for over a year before posting this RIPOFF REPORT to be sure I hadn't missed something.
Still to this day, the car runs properly. This sleazy mechanic saw a young girl he thought he could take advantage of and tried to sell her a repair that was absolutely unnecessary.
It's sad to see even a long-established business in a very small town trying to rip off local customers, but there you have it. Even after 80 years in business, they're employing mechanics who lie and steal.

We have been a customer of Joseph's Pontiac for almost 20 years. NEVER a problem. Always fairly priced and courteous -which I can't say about the other dealers in our area. In fact we just bought our son his first car there. We had a minor issue with it so the came to our house to get it and fixed it for free. You don't get service like that anymore. I question the report below and wonder if he thinks he knows more than he does.
