Joshua Brett Lewis Lewis/design build Didn’t fulfill job work that was done shoddy. Michigan

Joshua and partner Whitney Banks cost me roughly $100,000 He was contracted to build a seawall. While waiting for approvals was to do additional work on a garage and barn. We provided him deposit for initial work on seawall in June of 2020 it took almost 2 months for him to get engineering etc completed to even begin permitting. When he did get permitting he completed it incorrectly. Calling property a critical dune when it was not and including incorrect erosion report.

The deposit was supposed to cover engineering plans some other items later on. When engineering finally done tells me he and his family have been living off money could I pay deposit. I also agreed to give him some odd jobs to feed family while waiting for permit. I do he took three weeks to do a week of work on a garage and didn't finish, and started work on a barn where he indicated he could spray foam and obviously could not. When we got permit violated agreement by not barging in equipment but digging cut into yard destroying well and cement pad. All without approval.

Then incompetent crew he hired damaged lift, and then flipped a excavator in lake. He then repeatedly expressed hope I would pay for it because he did not have appropriate insurance. When asked for a summary of expense included items I paid for, recovery costs for excavator he flipped. He even bounced a check to the county. The work done was so poor and amateurish it had to be redone. The only reason it didn't cost me more was another contractor took pity on me for the failure on Joshua's part. Amazingly he felt he had actually performed something of value when I would have come out ahead never hiring him.

He is lazy, a liar, unskilled, unprofessional, and simply the single worst person I have ever done business with because he actually believes himself to be competent and that the world is always screwing him over. Literally told me thinks it was okay not to pay debts to those who who have more assets people, companies etc because he has none. Just a terrible person.
