Judge Timothy Lawliss Parental rights taken Plattsburgh, New York

On 02/05/2013 I was summoned to court. When I arrived I had a job that took me several months to get. I receive a paycheck of a gross income of about $150-$160 per week, with my Net of around $40 a week. I have two kids in Clinton County and one child in Albany County. Clinton County takes 55% of my check already and Albany County also takes some money out for my kid in Albany. I have my name with employment services such as Manpower and J.J Young. Also, because he locked me up before for not having a job because I got laid off with the rest of America, I had a job opportunity that would have allowed me to pay the full support but they called me back and told me that I couldn't be hired because I was arrested once before, when I told them it was for unpaid child support they told me it doesn't matter that I was in jail and that's all that matters. When these employment services call me and I work for them as well and they also take that check. I do not have a problem with this because I did have the kids and they are mine and I am responsible for them. I also filed my taxes which will also go to her. So know to the point. When I walked into court the Judge immediately asked why I wasn't paying for the full amount. I tried to explain that I have been looking for the job and had paperwork backed up such as print outs that stated "Thank you for applying someone will contact you shortly" these also had dates and times on them. The judge proceeded to tell me that "It wasn't his problem". The judge then asked my ex wife if she had any inputs and she said "I do not want him locked up because if you lock him up then I wont get anything", the judge then turned to the support magistrate and asked if he had any input, the magistrate said no. Then Judge Lawliss stated that "he will take matters into his own hands", then he said so that I can keep paying child support he will let me keep my job by allowing me to go to jail until it was time for work then I had to be back to Clinton County Jail by midnight of the same day and he will let me out to go to work the next day back down in Albany County and he wanted me to do this for three months. The trip is 2.5 hours away and will take a whole tank of gas per day to do this. At this rate it would cost me $65 dollars to fill up each day for 90 days which comes to $5850. If I had that kind of money to make this trip back and forth I would be putting it towards child support. When I advised Judge Lawliss that I did not have that kind of money he again stated that it was not his problem. I also advised him that I didn't have a car either and he simply stated "Well, you got up here this time you can get up here again." My girlfriends son is the one who brings me and he works a full time job and has a family to support. He does not have the time and money to be driving me around. Also, every time I apply for a public defender he denied the request so I have to go in there with no lawyer. If I could afford a lawyer don't you think I would be trying to pay my child support and not worry about paying for a lawyer and I wouldn't even have to go to court. I feel this is very unfair. No matter what I do or say to this judge he just locks me up or sets me up for failure so that he can put a warrant out for me. Well, I did not show back up because I could not afford to get back up their the next day and I didn't even pay to get up there on the 5th as I had no money my step-son paid for the gas and the whole trip and took me in his car. I feel that something needs to be done as I am trying to do everything I can to pay my support and this judge just doesn't want to hear it and would rather throw me in jail. I cant even afford to meet my ex-wife half way to pick my kids up every weekend.
