I am highlighting a very disheartning experience I had with Juliens Auctions culminating in 2011 with the auction of film footage I had of Marilyn Monroe and other famous Hollywooders when the movie "Some Like it Hot" was being produded in Coronado Ca.   Ive pegged Darren Julian as a shysters' shyster that burned me.

As Prima facie evidence, I offer a recap of germane quotes from letters, emails and phone calls from Juliens that began in 2009:

1.  A letter that mentions consigning the film to the July auction in Las Vegas with an estimate of $4000 to $6000 and sold for no reserve as had been done with the "Misfits" film footage of Monroe that auctioned for more than $60,000.

2 Email that I get the film copyrighted to upsell the price.

3. Email for Juliens had reviewed the DVD I mailed and said it contained "great Footage and he had sold a similar footage for $65,000 that included a copyright.

4. Email from Juliens saying glad I am having it copyrighted and he will need a signed consignment agreement along with the copyright and my 8 mm film.

5. Email response suggesting I don't let an attorney review and muck up the consignment and cause me to "lose money in the long run".

6. A phone call on Memorial Day from Juliens confirming the receipt of the copyright, film and the consignmnet agreement.

7.  A phone call from Juliens' Hillary Kipps saying "they don't have the consignmnet agreement!

At this point, I wrote of my aghast concern with their proclivity for losing/misplacing not only the dvd I wanted returned but now also the consgnment agreement.  (No response)

I thought it rather peculiar that a Los Angeles newspaper published a 9/24/2011 article about an upcoming auctionof Marilyn photos and copyrights in Beverly Hills, Ca. without an mention of my Monroe movie films!  The December 2nd auction of my film was a slam bang, quickly excuted farce.  A local auctionner provided the thought of the my film being a knock down bid.  I netted a mere $1600! Another peculiarity is the fact that I still have the original copyright.  My hunch is that Juliens flammed me to profit greatly in an unscrupulous manner from the auction of my film and also the dvd.  Following no response to any of my phone calls, I filed a complaint with California's District Attorney and also with the BBB.  It was a grand exercise in futility and led me to telling the AG that at age 80 I didn't have the time to wait "if a pattern is discovered or until what originated as a private dispute may become a matter of broad public interest.

And so it is my factual and distardly encounter with Juliens Auctions and I'd surely welcome and comments or advise for I am entertaining the ide of becoming the plantiff in a lawsuit against Darren Julian nor Juliens Auction.  My phone # is (((REDACTED))) Clay Stover of West Newton Pa.
