I checked out a facial cosmetic product online from Junisse.  I entered my info and when I realized the extremely high price of the item I clicked out without giving my VISA card number.  The offer was a 'free sample trial' that was suppose to reduce the appearance of lines and puffiness under the eyes.

A few days later, August 26, I received a call that was routed to a local number in my Arizona State County Seat where I live.  Seeing the number was local, I answered the phone and it was a sales representative from the Junisse company.  She said she had seen that I had been looking at their product and I told her it was way too expensive and I couldn't afford that charge every month.  She then tells me that the item was very effective and they could "modify" how often it was sent and also the price if I would be willing to try it.  She also said I had a 2 week trial period to try it out, and if I didn't like it, I could call their number in that time frame and I could cancel the order.  It was suppose to be a 'risk free trial'!  Well I finally agreed, gave her my VISA card number to pay for the $4.95 postage charge.

The order was mailed on August 27 and I received it on August 31, 2015.  I used it for 8 days and did not iike it.  So as to not get charged, I called them on September 9, 2015 to cancel.  I called a little early in case they started their countdown of the 14 days on the day it was mailed and not received.  Well they told me I had called a day too late and the charge of $98.67 had already been charged to my account.  I said I still had one day to cancel from the time they mailed it, and 4 days to cancel from the day I received it.  They said, "OH no, you ordered it on the 26th of August, and even though it had not even been mailed out, THAT was the day they began with!"  I told her how was I to know WHEN the 'countdown' began and I had not ordered over the internet in the first place.  (Oh, I forgot to mention, what I looked into on the internet wasn't even the same product I was sent after my phone coversation with the saleswoman!!)  I told her I would even send the product back.  She said has it been opened?  I said of COURSE it had been opened, and she informed me i was being RUDE and they could not receive opened products back!  She also said if I felt from the beginning the product was too high, I should have never agreeed for the trial sample to be sent!!

She said they could reduce the charges to $48.34 if I was so inclined.  I said no way, I wanted the FULL refund.  Basically, she told me too bad, I was a day late.

I contacted my bank and they are working to get the charges reversed.  It probably won't work, but I am furious.  What a deceitful cheating scam these people are operating.

After much internet searching today, I find this is a VERY common practice with this and similar companies.  I think these companies should be exposed and shut down for their unethical practices.  Some will say I should have read the small print, but I couldn't since it was a phone transaction.  I did look back later and read the 'small print' and it said I had 14 days to cancel, BUT they NEVER said anywhere the day the countdown began was the day you gave them your card number.

So be very, very wary of anything that says free sample, you have so much time to cancel, and above all NEVER EVER give these jerks your credit or debit card number.
