Hello, i started Kaplan one month and two weeks Starting the day i actually even signed up. So them knowing im vision impaired...they like some of you guys,,,rushed me through the whole document process...saids i had a few days to get it all submitted so i did...i cant read the documents so i made sure to bug them about the financial aid quite a bit and made it very clear i didnt want any loans.Since it is a school i thought i could trust them..boy was i wrong! So i start my three week free trial period...i notice i am getting straight a's...so i called in the day after my trial period ended to see about the supposively checks that are supposed to be coming in. Since i have been using my disability checks to pay for all of my supplies...well gues what? Of course AFTER my trial period ends they tell me i will have to pay approximatly around 40,000 when im done graduating in 4 years. [continued below]....
..... omg i totally was in shock...i had explained to the guy how i asked their department several of times about loans and the financial aspect of it all and no one tells me until noew?a day after my trial ends! No apoligy nothing and i literally cried! He explained if i didnt give him 3 grand right then and there it was a very good chance id have to pay upto 6 grand and i wouldnt even know until 6 months ater i withdrew. so i was so stressed out last night i barely slept...i didnt eat nothing..i got up early this morning on valentines day having to call the department of education and loans department and financial aid...i know right, happy valentines day! well the lady finally breaks down the amount i would have to pay if i dropped out today verses if i complete my term which ends in four more weeks,,,so i was told its cheaper to complete my term so i agreed to do so. but im scared about getting additional charges so tomorrow i am calling them to record the conversation i have with them about the 3 grand i will have to pay once my term is done...it will actually be 2100 once i apply my two grants they now claim they have so it will drop from 3 grand to 2 grand once i pay with my supposively free grant money,,,,which the guy two days ago said if i was to attend school for 4 years it wold be wise to use all of my grant money to pay off my loans so i dont owe so much once my 4 years is up...which i would owe 40 anyways! Before that a differnt financial aid lady never even addressed the fact i would owe 40 grand when my school was completed and she and other financial aid people made it soud like the grant money was all free and school wouldnt cost a dime...right,,,i should have known better! I am just glad i started reading reviews everywhere online starting last night and realized what this supposively school is all about...i really feel for these people who have completed 4 year degrees and cant even use them....that is a nightmare! My eyes and head hurts from so much stress crying yesterday and reading these online reviews all day i cant even focus on my typing right now....sorry if this is hard to read because of mistypes but i really felt i needed to get this out here asap to warn everyone!stay away from this school! one thing i can say is the teachers are extremely nice and the work is great but its nor worth the 40 grand and not being able to use your credits or even your degree its a scam and a waste of your time! if anyone thinks i have a case even though i think i screwed myself by unknowingly signing a notory agreeing to accepting loans....please feel free to inclue me in your lawsuit...i do have paper work to back up my eye conditions and stuff...good luck!
