Kelly Air conditioning And Heating Kelly air condition is a rip-off charged $80 to switch a valve and on complaining told me that they will not service my house again Iowa City Iowa

I bought house last year and my old owners gave me report from this company that certified the furnace was found to be in working order and it has been checked.

When we came, we found it is not working, there is no gas filter so we called them. They came and switched on gas supply and charged us $100

On complaining to them, about it they told we have changed water filter thats why we are charging that much. So after few arguements, they told they will not charge for the filter and just charge $80 for service which we paid.

Now this year, we want to service our furnace and they are refusing to come and service because we complained last year.

This seems unreasonable considering there are not many options in this small city

i agree w the company - there is no such thing as free services

there is no such thing as free services i cant believe this complaint was even allowed i have worked in hvac 10 years and the fees were standard in the industry why would they want to go back it is likely the only reason they wanted that co to come back is because the rates were the lowest

This is a great site and I do enjoy reading the posts and learn from the many viewpoints posted on this site. The first rebuttal posted was a bit harsh but had some valid points. In this post the folks had a problem, called a service company, the company came out, fixed the problem, installed a filter, and quoted the customer a price. The customer didn't like the price, argued with the company rep., who lowered the price $20 or 20% depending on how you look at it and that's how it ended. Now a year later, the customer calls the same company back, wants them to do some work for them and they refuse and you wonder why. Give me a break. If you hadn't been such a jerk last year, they would have been more than glad to come out and service your furance this year. Then you get on the internet and badmouth them some more. No wonder they won't come out. You reap what you sow. In my business, I have folks who are rude, obnoxious, and try and screw me for my last cent, then they wonder why is it that I don't wish to do business with them.

I am so sick and tired of individuals who want something for nothing. Did you expect this company to provide you a service for free???? Come on get real.... I hope that you understand that to operate a business you have to charge for services rendered. It cost money everytime a service truck pulls into your drive,from the cost of the truck, insurance, wages, parts, training and much more which I will not elaborate on. Hopefully you get the idea. But yet you feel you are getting ripped off. WHY?????????????????? WAKE UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know most companies will let you know what the cost is before they provide the service, if they don't then YOU should ask.

As for the company refusing to come back to service your furnace I can understand their frustration is dealing with you. (you probably want them to do it for free). I don't know what the details are about your dealings with this company except from what you wrote in your report,but I would be inclined to side with the company instead of you. But still, the company does provide a service and since you live in a small area I do not agree with the company refusing to service your furnace, to me that is not being professional, but then again I do not have all the details.

If you don't want to pay the cost of a service provided by this company, then do it yourself. If you cannot do this then expect to pay for the services rendered...........
