I live in Houston and was searching for puppies for my children. I used the only major newspaper in Houston for classified ads. I located a woman who responded by e-mail through the newspaper. She stated she had exactly what I am looking for...two female teacup yorkies.

She stated that her landlord is suing her for having the animals and she must get rid of them immediately. She said she would give me the puppies free as long as I paid the air travel for them. This totalled $730.00 ($365.00 each).

I was instructed to go to a local Walmart and send the money by MoneyGram and was given the name of Kelly Scholtz for the recipient, which I did. The next day she e-mailed me and said she had been in a horrible accident and wasn't able to go pick up the money. She said her veterinarian, Marie Magsayo, would pick it up and to transfer the money to her name.

I made another trip to the store and made the arrangements. I sent $530.00 now and was to send another $200.00 next week. When I got home this morning I had a message saying that Marie went to pick up the money and was told it was not authorized and I had to call the company to have it authorized.

I called MoneyGram and they informed me that the money was on hold for suspicious behavior on behalf of Marie Magsayo that she was making multiple attempts at collecting moneys of similar amounts and stating it was for "puppy fees". For some reason MoneyGram decided to wait to hear from me.

While I was on hold with MoneyGram I did a google search for the names involved and came across the same name in the same situation with another poor woman who fell prey to these incredibly sick individuals. Thankfully to Moneygram they saved my money and I am now able to get it back. I called the newspaper to report it as well. Now I am reporting on here.

Once thing to note, these people come across very caring about the puppies finding good homes, they appeal to how happy your children will be, are very good with correspondence. I am not an unintelligent woman. I am also usually a very good judge of a situation.

Unfortunately this got out of hand before I could catch it. My two children were the worst victims of all. I had to explain to them what kind of people are out there. They were broken-hearted!!!

Immediately after reporting this a lady called me from a town near my home and offered me an incredible deal on two yorkies. She heard my story and wanted to help, for the children. She is delivering our two new babies to our doorstep herself and no money is changing hands until I see them. She is making everything better.
