I had posted an ad on Craislist on Wednesday, December 31st 2014. I got a series of texts from a man inquiring about the piece of jewlery I was selling.  He offered a price which was only $20 less than what I was asking plus plus $60 dollars for overnight shipping costs.  He asked me to send him an invoice from my PayPal account.  After doing so, I recieved an email that Paypal had received his payment but it would not go through until I ship the payment which made it seem very authentic.  However, after looking at my PayPal account, I didn't see any record of the receipt of payment which made me suspicious. Upon further inspection and confrming with paypal, it did turn out the email was not a real paypal email.   

Luckily, I did check with paypal before I even thought of sending my ring. I also googled the address and the name of the person who wanted to purchase my ring and this is how I got the red flag that the address has been reported for this scammer before. Always double check and cover your basis before sending out anything.
