I was in contact with John about having one of my existing BCGs modified for use in a side charging upper. In the midst of our email conversation I clearly stated I had a side charging upper on its way to me and I asked if I should send it along with the BCG to verify proper fitment and I was assured that would not be necessary. I shipped the BCG to Keystone the Work was performed and the BCG was returned. The work was done really well and I was excited to try it in the carbine I had built with the side charging upper. I installed the BCG and attempt to cycle it and it went no further in it’s travel than the ejection port. The charging handle included in my service would not fit into the channel that allows the BCG to move through it’s intended travel. I contacted John to inquire about my dilemma and his response was that there was a communication gap and I “paid for what I received” and that he could open up the channel in the upper for another $45 + shipping. I then sent him our entire previous email conversation. And his response was “What now?”. I asked if there was another narrower handle he could supple and he said “no”. I then asked if he could simply machine a little off if the existing handle to which he replied he “ doesn’t deal with amateur gunsmiths”. I then asked since the communication gap was largely his responsibility if he’d split the upper modification with me to which he got  combative and dismissive telling me he was done and if I want to proceed to call him on Monday. I am obviously disappointed and quite surprised at how this situation was handled. Keystone came highly recommended and now I could not in good conscience pass long that recommendation.

Baseless documented LIES from lying customer on the CHEAP

AUTHOR: Keystone - (United States)

POSTED: Monday, July 16, 2018

Dear Eric S. Thompson of Lyndhurst, OH, You called and asked for a side charge bolt handle installed in a BCG. I happily agreed to do it for you in an exceptionally timely manner. I flawlessly performed the requested task as I have done literally thousands of times in the last 10 years. You in no way described or told me what receiver you were planning on using this in until after you received the modified part. Only then was it revealed to me that you were building your own rifle and acting as your own gunsmith on the cheap with the cheapest parts available on the internet. Have you gone to the receiver manufacturer and told them that their slot is to narrow to accept a Keystone Accuracy side charge handle, which has been on the open market several years prior to the receiver that you purchased?? I’m betting not.

I performed a task for a fair and agreed wage in which you only later revealed through the below emails that you were trying to cobble together a functional rifle from various parts, each manufacturer of which had no knowledge of the other’s advertised parts very existence. Once you discovered that through your own ignorance, the parts weren’t designed to function together, you contacted me in order to shift the blame on me, and possibly on the receiver manufacturer, for my gross lack of mind reading skills. You then tried to shame me into doing the $45 work at half price, which is truly laughable since the combined cost of both services were offered to you at a discounted rate in order to keep you happy.

On 7/15, I sent you an email telling you to just send the receiver and I’d fix your mistake though your own ignorance at no charge, only to wake up this morning and find an email in my inbox from some company tied to this slime-hustling website in order to extort god knows how much money from me in order to push this listing on the second page of Google search. NO WAY! If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were in on the take with this slime hustling-website. The most despicable part of all of this is how you are now trying smear me by feeding your inherently untamable inner weasel by fabricating pure lies in a complaint generated by your own foolish and cheaply motivated ignorance. Your title says "unusable" which is a complete lie. This part is usable with virtually any quality slotted receiver with exception to the one that you foolishly purchased without their accompanying bolt carrier. I also never said, that I "don’t deal with amateur gunsmiths" as you have so proudly quoted me and which you are clearly trying to pose under false auspices of. As a matter of fact, I provide parts for them every single week. I’m sorry, but I can’t in good conscience recommend you as a customer for any vendor. Additionally, as documented below, I advised you to call on Monday, in which you agreed to, but as Monday drew closer, you took the most cowardly way to satisfy your own remorse of gross ignorance and turned to none other than the internet and all of it's many ways of smearing with no foundational evidence of claim.

For anyone interested in seeing the truth behind all of this lying customer’s allegations, here is every unmodified email that we have ever traded in regard to this request: June 13, 2018 Lying customer: I saw a comment online as I was searching that stated John is the gentleman to have drill and tap a BCG for a side charging handle. I would like some more information on that. Thank you. Keystone Accuracy: Yes, we can do that for you. Lying customer: Thank you for the prompt response. How much would that service cost? Would it be a good idea to send along the upper as well? Keystone Accuracy: Exactly what did you want done? Lying customer: I'd like a BCG drilled and tapped to accept a side charging handle. Keystone Accuracy: That would be $65, including a handle, plus $10 return shipping. Lying customer: Excellent. Does it help to have the upper with it? Keystone Accuracy: Not if you just want the carrier tapped. If you need the receiver slotted, that’s something different. Lying customer: Gotcha... I've got a side charging upper inbound so, I do not need one modified. Where do I send the BCG and what is turn-around like (in no hurry, just curious).

June 14, 2018 Lying Customer: Should I just send my BCG in with instructions and then make payment to your when it's ready to be shipped back or some other manner? Thanks! Keystone Accuracy: That's fine. July 7, 2018 I received a package from lying customer with a bolt carrier group to be tapped with a note asking to tap the carrier as requested. The same day, I sent an invoice to lying customer, which was paid with a credit card a few days later on July 9th. July 11, 2018 (10 o’clock in the evening) Lying customer: I received my modified BCG today and it looks great and I like the charging handle but the charging handle does not fit into the channel after the injection port portion of it's travel. The neck of it has too large of a diameter. It's just a regular Bear Creek Arsenal side charging upper. What do you suggest. Thanks, Eric Thompson Keystone Accuracy: You should have said that when ordering. You can send your receiver and I can open the slot to the proper dimension. The charge is $45 plus return shipping. Lying customer: I did ask you in our conversation if I should include the upper. You said it was not necessary. Keystone Accuracy: I don't remember the conversation, but it sounds like there was a communication gap for sure. In any case, you paid for what you received. I can modify the receiver if you like.

Next, the lying customer then sent a few screen shots to me in order to manipulate what took place in the conversation since I stated that I didn’t have the conversation committed to memory until I researched my email for this documentation. Keystone Accuracy: Ok, what's next? Lying customer: Is there another smaller diameter handle perhaps? Can a handle just be turned down a bit? I appreciate you talking about it at this hour. It's the best time for me to send emails. Keystone Accuracy: No. That is the only one I have offered for the last 10 years. It's a 1/4-28 threaded bolt. If you got the receiver that was already slotted from Bear Creek, why not a tapped BCG as well? Lying customer: I had the BCG and decided on a side charging build and bought the upper. July 12, 2018 Lying customer: If I could just get a little bit shaved off the already machined portion of the handle I think it would work. I can take measurements if you think this is do-able. Thanks again. Keystone Accuracy: Eric, if you are building this rifle then you are acting as the gunsmith. I really don't want to have any input on this unless I am physically doing the work. Lying customer: Okay. So, if the only way you see to make this function properly is to open the upper will you meet in the middle and cover half of the $45? Keystone Accuracy: No, I’m not at any fault whatsoever. When I do a complete side charge mod, it’s $125. You're already getting a discount. Frankly, I’m growing very tired of this whole conversation. Lying customer: The miscommunications is not my fault and frankly I’m surprised at highly recommend your business came I’m being treated in this manner when I’ve been nothing but polite and cooperative. Keystone Accuracy: I pretty much exhausted everything that I'm going to type in an email. If there's any more information that you need from me please call on Monday. You had my answer several e-mails ago what I can do for you so there's not much point in beating the dead horse. Thank you and have a great weekend. Lying customer: Okay
