Kids.com/Just Our Kids Just, OurKids,Not!!, JustYourMoney Fairfield New Jersey

In early June 2006, we received a letter from Kids.com informing us that they think our daughter would a great canindate for commercials.We called the number listed on the letter and set up an appointment to come in.We brought our four year old daughter and our newborn daughter to the appointment.

A lady named Diane greeted us and escorted us to a little room filled with toys and books.She first asked our four year old to come here and play with a toy with her and she said if she didn't repsond then she wouldn't be camera friendly.Usually children who do not respond to strangers would not work well in front of the camera.She left out of the room before she gave us some photo albums of all of their work that their company had done.This included commercials with pampers and cereal layouts.

She came back in and said your little one is so cute,Iwill put her on the contract for free and do all of the same work as your four year old. She then explained how their company works.Diane said that there would be a one time fee of $595.00 and this would include our children being posted up on their website for five years. They would get a percentage of any jobs that they would find for our children and our children would have to get updated photographs every six months for the next five years also.The updated photographs would be an additional charge of $20.00.Kids.com didn't guarantee any jobs but they did guarantee that they would get casting calls within the five years and that their pictures would be posted on their website, JustOurKids.com.

So we wrote out a check for $595.00, payable to JustOurKids.com.Our kids were assigned file numbers,for the purposes of not disclosing their names on the websites. Diane proceeded to give us the name of the photographer studio which was Studio 4 Photographs.They were located in New York at the time we signed the contract.Diane said make an appointment with them and they will give her the photos to put online.We called Studio4,but they were in the process of moving.The contact name Jim said he would call when the move to their new place in Elizabth New Jersey. He called us in August to come in and we did.We paid the $20.00 sitting fee and $99.00 for additional pictures.

Their pictures did not go up on the website until we called in October of 2006 to find out why their pictures were not up the website.Diane said she would handle it. Jim from Studio 4 said to come back in six months.We did.Still no calls for an auditon for commercial or layout.We paid $20.00 sitting fee and $79.00 for additional photos.Jim stated that he had some contacts to give to us if our children didn't call by kids.com for an audition.He said our kids had the selling look. He also stated that the building they were currently leasing was not fit to take pictures so they would be moving again,but the number would still be the same.

The sad thing is that we tried to contact Studio 4 photographs to update our daughters' pictures and they were no longer located in Elizabeth New Jersey and that is when we tried to contact Kids.com at the number on Diane's business card and that is how we found out about their crooked busines that they have been running.

Well here it is, 1 year and 5 months later, our daughters haven't heard from Kids.com about any auditions, we are out of $813.00, not including the gas and tolls, so me and my husband are trying to float around pictures that we took of our daughters from our digital camera to corporations and advertisment companies.

It is sad day for management companies who prey on low-income families with martketable children, who all they want is your money instead of the bigger picture. Which is making a good name for their company while making money and helping families who really want a better life for their families.
