I was recently let go from the rose-hill kindercare due to undetermined circumstances. I have worked with K.L.C for three years. I have been a site director for the champions program and a school age teacher during this time. Rosehill kindercare was my first kindercare i worked for. I have a personal relationship with the director there installing and doing repairs on her home with the knowledge from my construction and maintenance background. she does what she can to appease the employees. There have been numerous occurences where protocol and licensing guidelines were not followed. I was motivated to help the toddler or mag-a classroom by creating a plan to organize the classroom into three groups and meet the ratio requirements. I asked the assistant director about the ratios and she stated they were 1 to 10. I later looked up the ratios and nowhere on the internet could i find the ratios for 2-2 1/2 year old as a ratio other than 1 to 7. When i took this to the director she stated i was correct but all the children in the class were 36 months and older. I re-assessed the CSR and discovered that they combined the 2 year old class with the three year old class. Following the guidelines of the w.a.c and the naeyc the ratios drop to 1 to 7. They have had 2 teachers in there with 20 -23 kids at all times in one class. ages were 2, 2 1/2, 3 and 3 1//2. When i noticed this along with the stress the teachers were enduring i created a list of the classrooms and created a plan to fulfill the licensing requirements. When i was nearly finished it was time for my shift to end and return home. I left the papers there because they contained personal information about the families. When i returned the next day i discovered that my lists and plans had been removed and were nowhere to be found. I returned to the Mag-A classroom and discovered that the list had been changed along with half of the birthdays being changed......I became irritated and copied the c.s.r to bring to the Site Director. The assistant director who had apparently been the only one with access to the lists as the director was away dealing with her husband who recently went through a debilitating injury to his leg. The Director was forced to leave work and leave in charge the assistant director. When i copied the C.S.R's i was questioned by the asistant director as to my motives. She called in another director from another center whom it was obvious she has a personel relationship with. They went around the director of the rosehill kindercare and forced my termination. I have no previous write-ups, great references, and outstanding organization and work ethic.I made constant repairs around the entire building including garbage cans, siding, wall paneling, door hinges, and repairing all their computers back to perfect working order. Which i could have been fired for because of it not being part of my job description. The CSR's or attendance roster was taken from me and never found. Upon my termination my papers did not explain why i was terminated only that i questioned the integrity of other employees. They stole the papers from me and got me fired intentionally due to the fact that the center is possibly in need of money and could is charging parents for programs that are not even run there including phonics, math, and reading. If you are a parent at this center i just hope that with this statement along with your previous knowledge....know that the teachers there know whats going on and are afraid to say anything. If you child is in any class including the MAG-A, and preschool program know that they are constantly left over ratio and this is a violation of policy and the requirements of their standards. ASK QUESTIONS...and keep asking them untill you get an answer. Theres no time like the present. If there wasnt something going on why get rid of a teacher with so much to offer and little to gain. The policy requires you get written up twice b4 termination.????
