I Frances Santana was visiting my sister-in-law in Charlotte, when I arrived, there was a representive of Kirby vacume cleaners, I was very impressed by his demotration and order the Kirby vacume, They did all the paper work and took my social sercurity and my husbands and made some phone calls, and was told everything was okay, and that I would be recieving it in 3 to 4 days.

It has been about 3 weeks and still no Kirby. I know the name of the rep, which is Tyron, and that is all I know. They didn't give me any paper work or any imformation in writing. I am afraid that they will bill me for a Kirby I never recieved. I never even recieved a letter to comfirm or deny my the credit for the Kirby.

Wife of an Ex-Distributor!!

I am a wife of an ex-distributor and was responsible for running the inside office and training our sales people and dealing with the finace companies and our customers.

It is not policy of the Kirby Company to have rude sales people in the business. We teach our people to be respectful, courteous, polite and professional. Unfortunately, there are exceptions, those people who can't be taught anything and they become a negative problem for the Kirby Co. the distributor they work for, the consumer and themselves. They eventually have to be let go.

I worked closely with the finace companines and know for a fact that each and every transaction that was done was verified by the finace company with the customer. UCFS always sent out letters of acceptance or denial as did other finace companies that I worked with, and I always called the customer myself to let he/she know whether or not they had been approved or denied.

If you have never ran your own business and had to deal with the rift raft that walks in, then you shouldn't be so judgemental on the business owner. Also, if you have never been involved in direct sales then you shouldn't be so hard on the dealer. Door to door sales is a negative business and I've done both. I've been the in home customer and I've been the door to door sales person knocking that strangers door not knowing what to expect but putting on my biggest and prettiest smile and being my politest only to have doors slammed in my face followed by the sounds of colorful metaphores. I wasn't being dishonest I was just beating the pavement trying to make an honest living so I could have the money to put diapers on my baby.

You, the consumer, are a rude, mean, ugly, disrespectful breed, that seems to think that all sales people are dishonest, and granted, some are, but not all. We are out there because of the opportunity to work hard, earn decent money, with the hope of opening our own distributorship. Some of us make it, some of us don't.

I have the highest respect for the Kirby Co. and the many Kirby Distributors I've met while working with the Kirby Co. It's an excellant company with an excellant product and I wouldn't use any other machine in my home. It is unfortunate that there has to be unhappy consumers, or unhappy dealers who feel the need to get onto a site like this one to air out their disgruntal feelings causing distrust, disrespect, and a bad report on the respectful people in Kirby.

Now for those of you who are asking yourself, "well if she's so happy with the Kirby Co. why isn't she still in it?" Answer: Family issues, and family always comes first. Fortunately, by having Kirby in our lives we were financially able to take a break.

To all of you unhappy people. My apologies and I hope that you will find it in your heart to forgive, forget, and realize that the Kirby Company is an excellant company or it wouldn't have been around for 90 yrs. It isn't just LUCK!!

Where are the service & repair in Arizona

They claim to have the highest quality but I have the G5 and several plastic pieces have broken and I can't get them replaced. That is not a valid warranty in my book.

I own a g4 and it's one of the best purchaces i ever made. At first i thought it was to expensive for a vacume cleaner, but the more we used it the more i was impressed.

The sales person used absolutly no pressure tactics and was so polite to my wife and myself that i would recomend them to anyone i know.

Not to take anyones side, but dont blame a good company with an exelent product on a rude and greedy salesperson.

Matthew, did you read the same report that i did? or do you just type so you can see your words on the screen.I believe she said that she purchased the Kirby, not her sister-in-law, so i doesnt matter what the sister-in-laws credit was like. #2 if sales people are going to bother someone in thier home then they should have the common courtesy to follow up with those customers, regardless of the outcome. this no-service she recieved is of no fault of her own, but that of an over eager salesman who has no idea how to make customers thier customers for life.

Hey Frances Santana ,

Its not your fault you sister-in-law couldnt get approved for a vacume cleaner! And just because she has bad credit doesnt mean you have to get all flustered up and file a Rip Off Report. Kirby is a fortune-5 company. its owned by the richest man in the world(Warren Buffett) and thousands of Kirbys sold everyday all over the world. If the kirby companies took every chance to call every loser back that couldnt get approved for the machine, then they would have to have a separate building just to hold all the phone workers. Its not Kirbys fault your sister-in-law didnt get her Kirby, its yoru sister-in-law's fault. Maybe if she watched her credit cards and bank statements a little closer she wouldnt have a negative credit score. Kirbys are a good machine and are for people who appreciate quality, reliability, and performance. People pay top dollar for these machines, and really do get what the pay for. Maybe your sister-in-law should get a hoover instead, im sure that would be the better financial decision for a person with poor credit such as her-self.

Frances i`ve sold Kirby vacuums for 15 years my suggestion would be to call the main finance company that Kirby deals with it`s United Consumer Financial Services There # is 1-800-344-5000. Make sure you havent been set up with them if you have then they can get you in contact with the dealer and his distributor that set you up. But the finance company always verifies with the costomer before the distributor is paid. so i dont think this has happened but call to make sure.If not contact the credit bureaus to see if theres any inquires on you report at around the time of the transaction. that will tell you what finance company they were going threw.

My last suggestion is open the yellow pages and find the nearest authorized Kirby Distributor in your area and ask for the salesman or to look up in records for your name. I hope this will help. And remember there is alot of us Kirby Distributors that really do care and do not us high pressure tactics to sell the finest home care system in the world at a good honest price. Weve been in salt lake city for over sixty years in the same location and if we were a run you around company i dont think we would still be here.
