I engaged Pam Lauer's services over a year ago and I'm in a worse position now than when I first met her. She claims to have extensive financial experience working for BofA for 25 years, but it turns out she is unprofessional and makes many false promises. She rarely returns calls or answers her phone. She was supposed to negotiate several credit cards and lines of credit for settlement and never returned their calls, so many of them are now taking me to court when I could have settled with them early on. She claimed she could get them down to .40 cents on the dollar based on my hardship and my wife has gotten them down to .15-.25 cents on the dollar with minimal effort and within 30 days. She promised to supply me with Mortgage securitization audits that came with Bloomberg screen shots to obtain a mortgage modification on my house, she took my payment and never provided them to me. I have proof via email that she claims they were ordered and paid for.  I called the two auditors directly, who we had a 3 ways conference calls with, and they admitted to me that the audits were never ordered and they never received the money from Pam. She is a compulsive liar. She has an overwhelming amount of clients and she can't keep up with the work. When your file falls by the wayside, she creates an excuse that is an out right lie. As time goes on, the lies get worse and worse, until you are at the point where someone is taking you to court or you are going into foreclosure, when it could have been avoided by just being honest. She promised to submit paperwork to Fannie Mae for loan modification and promised she could get us approved for Harp or Hamp. She advised us to submit numbers in pencil so she could change them to make them more attractive to get the approval. Modifying the numbers in this manner will not work. You must supply pay stubs and bank statements. She is going to get someone in serious trouble for fraud by doing this.  We submitted our own application in pen with honest numbers and are going through the process correctly without her so called help. She also implied to us that not paying our mortgage on the rental would give us more leverage. When we were served with a foreclosure on a rental property, she offered to write our answer letter with the help of one of her lawyer friends. We naively submitted it to the court. I quickly realized that trying to do this on your own is a big mistake when the other side has a seasoned lawyer. I hired a lawyer to handle the case and when he read the answer letter that Pam had written for us, he almost had a heart attack. He quickly amended the answer letter. Pam's letter was so bad that the other side fought us in court to keep her damaging answer letter and strike down the amended letter. Our lawyer won that battle and his amended letter was kept. With her letter we would have already had a summary judgement against us and we would have lost the case based on that one letter. Pam is very good at calming you down when the heat is on legally. She says all the right things to make you believe that she can save the day. The truth is that she's incompetent. She will lead you down the wrong path and then she will take you money and not return your phone calls. Don't believe me call her office number and any given day and see if anyone answers. She's a saleswoman. She would probably be sucessfull is she surrounded herself with a compentent staff, a few good lawyers who know what they are doing and reduced her workload so she could provide the proper attention to each persons case. She can't negotiate any better than you can on your own debt. She knows just enough about foreclosures to get into trouble and if things don't go right she will lie her way out of them or blame the auditor or lawyer you're working with. Bottom line is go find your own foreclosure attorney, one who doesn't charge a monthly fee. Find your own auditor, it's difficult but worth it once you find them and negotiate your own credit debt. She can't do anything more than you can and the creditors would rather deal with you as opposed to a middle man anyway. Stick to your guns with negotiating with them. If the debt is an unsecured line of credit or credit card you have the upper hand with your hardship. I am now in the process of taking Pam to small claims court to retrieve my 2000.00 that was supposedly for audit that were never ordered.
