Honest mistake.

AUTHOR: I am the law - (USA)

POSTED: Monday, August 02, 2010

It was probably an honest mistake. Is it worth making such a fuss over?

Besides, I don't see any mention of you bringing it to the stores attention. You can't really claim a ripoff if you didn't even notify the store.

what coffee did you buy?

AUTHOR: Justin Todd - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 24, 2005

if you bought decaf coffee chances are it was not on sale. the only coffee that normally goes on sale is the light blue, dark blue and red lable and its usually 34.5 - 39 oz can. DECAF normally does not go on sale no matter what brand you buy. if it was on the 8th of this month i can research that on my own and then i will know what is really going on and who is trying to rip off whom here on this report.

the ad shows pictures too of the coffee on sale normally but sometimes with human error there are pictures placed in the ad of items that do not belong. beleive me i know and one more thing, Kroger does not print their own ads, report your local newspaper as well for their errors too.

i forgot your god?

woo whoo nancy!

you dont know what your talking about when its BOGO

AUTHOR: Craig - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, September 10, 2005

i am a file clerk as well with the company and after reading some of these responses i can tell who is a file clerk and who is a public idiot and one thing working with the public has taught me decades ago and that is the public is ignorant. thats right work retail, maintain 245,000 upcs in the scan system and walk in our shoes. ive done this for 19 years now. BOGO these days has been changed years back for the benefit of the single person. BOGO used to be where the first item scanned full price and when the second came up the scan system determined that item would scan free price. these days BOGO is now every item will scan half price that is for the benefit of the customer who wants to take advantage of buying the item but will not consume 2 of them in a reasonable amount of time and most customers know this now but still they buy one and get one free but they still take both after all half price is still a good deal. if the items were not scanning BOGO then chances are 1.) the item was not the correct BOGO item to begin with or possibly 2.) when your plus card was scanned the cashier thought it beeped to active your order of savings but it never did. BUT then again sometimes the register is at fault and there was a glitch on one item but the remainder of the order worked with the savings being taken off all your sale items. at my store and im certain all stores across the company you can now watch your items on a flat panel at the register being checked out and as they are right below that item the savings is displayed as well. ive gone thru it all i am a file clerk for 19 years now! NOW where is that commision check for the amount of tags and crap we put up with??

"Buy One Get One Free" is mostly a scam.

AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 11, 2005

Here's a tidbit for everyone who thinks they are getting such great deals on these "Buy One Get One Free" promotions at he grocery store (any grocery store, not just Kroger). The majority of the time (notice I said majority, not ALL), the store jacks the price to double the normal amount.

For instance, my 3-year old drinks lots of apple juice. The brand I usually get is regularly $.99, but whenever the store has a BOGO Free promotion, the price is $1.99. See how that works? They charge you the same amount that 2 would normally cost, and they give you one "free". Yeah, right. This was just one example, I have seen the same thing on almost everything.

Wal-Mart price matches all competitor prices, but they refuse to honor the BOGO Free specials as they know how they work.

Just some food for thought.

Learn their return policy and scan right policy

AUTHOR: Bob - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 11, 2005

If you would of called that night or the next day or next week and had your receipt kroger would have gave your money back for both cans of coffee and you would have gotten both cans free computers do make mistakes I know this because I work at kroger and I have been their for 18 years and I do the price changes at my store in Mt vernon Ohio.

And I see alot of mistakes hanging these price changes its hard to catch all of them and sometimes its the customer who has to point these out for us kroger is based on customer service its our main goal to keep our customers happy and willing to come back its what we
do best.

Being an employee with kroger I appologize for any inconvienence and hope you will come back and shop with us and again I appologize for any trouble this has caused.

??? how long you have been shopping there

AUTHOR: J - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, May 27, 2005

I guess what I don't understand and what you failed to post is how long you have been shopping there and how many other times you have been there when everything went ok. People are human, from the people inputting the information into the barcode system, to the cashiers ringing up your sale. People being human mistakes will be made. If you let one bad experience completely stop you from shopping there then I guess that is your issue. Whenever I go shopping I watch the register to make sure the prices are correct and then I check my receipt before I leave the store to make sure that everything rang up correctly. I guess what I am saying here is the blame for this is like 50/50, part theirs but also part yours.....

Price could be with the Kroger Card

AUTHOR: Daniel - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 29, 2005

The price that you may have seen listed would be the price if you had the Kroger Card. Just go to the Customer Service Desk and sign-up for the Kroger Card

Cathy, you may need to stop eating food.

AUTHOR: Patrick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 09, 2005

Cathy in Fort Wayne, first you need to pay attention to when the ad starts and ends. Kroger ads end on Wednesdays. You went shopping on Friday. If you didn't pay attention to the fact that the "Buy One Get One Free" ad was nowhere to be found in the store (except where lazy people left it in their cart with their other trash), that is your fault, not the store's.

Secondly, yeah, you will shop there again. You'll go to another store and as soon as they/you make a mistake you will say "I'm never shopping there again" and "their prices are way too high". (By the way, spend $100 at Kroger, Meijer, Scott's, Marsh, etc. and see which one you bring home the most from.) Then you move on to the next, and the next..... Eventually, you will end up living on Pop Tarts from vending machines. Go to the service desk, get the problem resolved, and get over it.

obviously don't or have never worked in retail in a day in your life

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, April 08, 2005

Cathy,

You obviously don't or have never worked in retail in a day in your life. If you think you can do better then I am sure you can be hired on at Kroger or in their Corp. Office in the Store Systems Dept. if you think you can do a better job and enter your batch of UPC's and weekly prices with ZERO errors then I am sure you can be hired on, and no I don't work for Kroger, but I do work in retail.

Most of the time also its not that the computer is scanning wrong, its that the tag was never pulled from the previous sale that they had.

This happens where I work as well, because you have thousands upon thousands of UPC's, price changes, and etc... Did you ever stop to think that your constantally being interrupted by customers asking for help and where something is and you might lose your place and miss a tag or a price change???

We associates in retail don't critique your job and work, don't do ours. Now your going to have a fit and cry and shop and another store for a while, then when something scans wrong there, you will be right back at Kroger. Why just for the kicks, take a part time job in a retail store and you can see what it is all about. Dr. Phil set this up for a lady one time, it changed her, she admitted on his show, maybe you can be changed also...

Later,

Their advertising for buy one get one frees....

AUTHOR: Renee - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, March 03, 2005

All those great deals that they advertise are for when you use your Krogers card. I never had a problem in the 3 months that I shopped there (because it was block away) unless I didn't use my card I didn't get the deal.

Check receipt before you leave store

AUTHOR: Jeffrey - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 28, 2004

I understand the frustration this person feels, however, you should always check the receipt before leaving any store. Everything is barcode and computerized and it is very easy for Kroger or any other store to accidently forget to change the price in their computers. Modern technology is nice but it isn't perfect. Kroger prices aren't bad using the Kroger card.
