LA MOVING INC Moving Nightmare Experience! LOS ANGELES California

 AVOID!!! AVOID!!!! AVOID!!!!! Avoid this moving company at all costs! I saw their company ad on craiglist and decided to give them a call. I reserved a 9am move and they showed up at 10:15. I had about a 1 bedroom apartment amount of stuff to move some of it to storage and the rest to my new place. It took them 4 hours just to load the truck which should have taken maybe 2 hours at best. One of the movers that went by Nick I believe asked me to go pick up some water because his stomach was hurting. Can you believe that? And then when they had finally loaded the truck Nick asks again for lunch and something to drink. The nerve of some people!!!! Okay it gets better.

We get to the storage yard and they refuse to unload the truck and want me to pay them for 7 hours worth of work. It had only been 4 hours. Of course I refused and told them to unload my things or I'd call the police. This is when I spoke to the main ringleader Steve on the phone. I explain the situation and asked why he wants me to pay for hours upfront that they hadn't worked and hadn't finished yet. He says that's their policy. I refused to pay so guess what they did? They drive off with my stuff in the truck!!! I call the police and an officer comes out. I show him my paperwork and explained the situation to him. The officer calls Steve and asks him where's my stuff and Steve says she won't pay us so we keep her stuff. The officer mentions the extra hours they wanted me to pay for that they hadn't done and Steve still demands to be paid for 7 hours. The officer then tells me this is a business matter not a criminal case and he had little jurisdiction. He advised I pay for the 7 hours and then take them to small claims court. So the movers come back with my stuff and parked 2 blocks down away from storage and harassed me to pay. A male friend luckily had arrived to help me with these idiots and told them we weren't paying anything till they drove the truck onto the storage lot. After much yelling and going back and forth they finally drove the truck to the storage driveway. I had to pay for 7 hours for them to unload the truck and now all my stuff is in storage because they refused to take part of my things to the new apartment. which is what I hired them to do!!!

I'm stuck without my bed, dresser, clothes, shoes pots and pans etc. and have to hire another pair of movers to take some things from storage to the apartment. I am now going to file a case with small claims for the cost of hiring a 2nd set of movers and for mental anguish. This was by far the worst moving experience I have ever experienced in my life. My friend and I still can't believe what happened. Now I'm scared to trust any company because of these jerks. I scored them a 1 because zero isn't an option. DO NOT USE LA MOVING INC!!!!
