Electronic withdrawals of $21.87 began appearing on our bank statement in 2009, from L.A. Tan/The Pink Coconut. We had never heard of this company before that. I called the L.A. Tan store and got nowhere. I went to the bank and put a stop to the monthly withdrawals. The bank could only do that for 6 months. So now the 6 months is up, and sure enough, there is a withdrawal this month from L.A. Tan.

My husband is livid. He drove to L.A. Tan and raised holy hell. He had a hard time finding the place because they actually had the sign for a different business over their address. (We will be turning them into the Permit Department for that. He saw numerous violations that the Puyallup Fire Department would be interested in.)
Then he called the area manager--who of course is not answering his phone. We called the corporate office and only got voice mail. Plus, there is no e-mail address listed.

Tomorrow I go back to the bank and get new account numbers. It's the only way to stop these unauthorized, fraudulent charges. Someone in this company is a rip-off artist. And I must say, pretty good at it. We didn't notice the original charges until they had gotten around $100.00. Plus $15.00 the bank charged me for stopping the withdrawals for 6 months. I guess we're lucky it didn't cost us more that this.

L.A. Tan/Pink Coconut Is Fair and Honest

AUTHOR: latan_washington - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, December 21, 2010

I am a current employee of L.A. Tan in Washington, formally Pink Coconut. I have been with the company before we were purchased by L.A. Tan and can say without a doubt that we are fair in all customer relations.

If you truly were charged for one of our monthly EFT memberships, we would have an agreement on it, signed by you, authorizing the transactions. If you did not sign our agreement, we would happilyrefund any chargemade to your account since at that point, would be considered fraud.

I would be happy to look at your account if you would like. I do not know how this site can put us in touch but would be happy to help clear up any mistakes and clear the air. I am one of the managers and it sounds like you might have been miss-informed by one of our employees.
