My husband and I joined LAWL last year. My husband and I studied the contract very closely before we signed and we were very adamant about not wanting to purchase the WL bars. Our contract was revised omitting their bars. We then decided that they tasted ok and we purchased all the bars we thought we would need for both our needs. WE SPENT A LOT OF $$. We both did very well at first. My husband lost 50 pounds but now is struggling on maintaniance trying keep it off. I on the other hand lost 25 and am struggling to continue losing The plateau has been an eternity durint the holidays I gained about 6 pounds and am not getting it back off. It's been difficult for both of us lately.

We moved in July and transfered to the Salem location. The employees there were rude and distant. I never felt like they were ever happy to see me come in. My husband felt the same. I will admit that I was not following the plan to a "T" but I was attempting to maintain and be concious of what I was eating. The script I found was "Journal, drink your water and make sure you eat your Lites". I am very frustrated because I was hoping the counselors were there to help me. They are not. On day I came in, was weighed and then left in the room for some time alone. the counselor came back with this sheet of paper telling me that if I wanted to continue my weight loss that I need to buy additional weeks and bars the total was like $700.00. I was flabbergasted there was no "Hi, how's it going" just pay up ladie or your outta here.

I was devistated I told my husband what happened and he was on the phone giving them the what for. The counselor who helped me was this tiny young girl who I am sure has never had to worry about her weight ever. Then she sits there and tells me to pay or or else. I still continued attending but have decided the stress of seeing this person has made my attendence dwindle. I just dont want to face her. I dont want her to wait on me. The employees they hire, they have no degrees in weight loss. They are hired off the street given scripts to follow and quotas to meet. Its not personable at all.

If I was to make this choice again I would spend the $$ seeing a nutritionist. Some of us have underlying issues as to why we overeat and this establishment is not about that. It's about the almighty dollar. Weather you lose or not they still get their money. They could care less if you drop out. I am glad I lost the weight and I just wish the staff could have helped me be in a more indepth manner.I think they let me down when it came to
the personal stuff. They just wanted me in and out the door. Something that really bothers me is the video's they are so annoying they play them over and over in the waiting room. All of these clients who have lost weight and how easy it was. I recall one client saying OH you can go out to dinner with your friends and eat the same things they eat... Makes me laugh.

I didn't eat like my friends. they all opt for the high fat foods with sauces and gravies. I choose chicken and veggies and very seldom had bread. They drank alcohol. I had water and iced tea. If you are thinking about joining the adivice I have for you is...Read the contract.... Understand that you will lose weight if you follow the program. But there is the never ending push to but products. It gets very tiresome. There is no magical cure for weight loss and LAWL is just like any other business they are in business to make money.

LA Weightloss Bars - What's in them..? Time to test?

AUTHOR: Seviay - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, June 02, 2006

I am currently a client of LA Weightloss and have read every report made here and comment that followed. I learned alot that I didn't know regarding their business practices and it truly does disgust me.

Considering people are made to feel they need these LA lights to be successful on the program.. Has anyone ever taken these "candy bars" to a lab to have them tested for "hidden" ingredients? How do these bars makes you lose weight when their sugar content and carbohydrate is so high?

I agree that the sugar content is high as well as the carbohydrates. Makes you wonder what use they truly do have.

For those who are currently clients. I was told that you can have the LA Smoothie in replace of fruit. I specifically asked, "So, I dont' have to eat fruit, I can just make this smoothie?" The response was yes. However, I was told that Fusion (a combination of vegetable juice and fruit) wasn't to be taken everyday and it counts as 2 vegetables and 1 fruit. With that in mind, let us talk about ingredients. The first ingredient is what will be mostly in a product, and the second to a lesser degree and so on. The first 5 ingredients are important. So, I looked at both ingredients - LA Smoothie and V8 Fusion. Here is what is written:

LA Smoothie Ingredients: Sucrose, crystalline fructose, LA Smoothie real fruit blend (banana, strawberry, strawberry seeds), cellulose gum, natural and artificial flavor.

V8 Fusion Ingredients: Reconstituted vegetable blend (water and concentrated juices of sweet potatoes, carrots, yellow tomatoes),reconstituted fruit juice (water and concentrated juices of white grapes, oranges and pineapple.

I would like to know what benefits anyone losing weight with such a high sugar/carbohydrate content? The lites have high sugar/carbohydrate too.

I will be contacting Campbell's, makers of V8 juice/Fusion, to get in full detail what they mean by reconstituted.

I'll update when I gather more information.

You are not Alone

My wife uses LA Weight loss. When we signed her up, I too was shocked at the cost. It is incredible that you were allowed to negotiate the Bars out of the contract. They would have nothing of it when I spoke to them about it.

My wife has also had some less than stellar service at the Sherwood Location. And They are crazy about pushing the extra sales.

To resolve this you should just find out when the lil girl doesnt work and go in then. You may also consider using a different location.

If my wife hadn't got so excited about LAWL I am confident she wouldn't have signed up after thinking about it more.
