I joined the Lebanon, TN location of L.A. Weight Loss in January of 2007. I was very determined to lose some weight. I was willing to do whatever it took. So, when the counselors at the center told me that I really needed to buy their products and that without them I wouldn't be very successful, of course I bought them! I opened a credit account there to be able to pay for the amounts of money being charged for maintenence, snack bars called 'LA Lites', supplements, vitamins, etc. It was through "Care Credit".

In less than a year I racked upcharges of $2,610.86!!! In December 2008 I became pregnant and visited the center one last time. I told Jackie, one of the counselors, that I was pregnant and would be having to stop the weight loss program. Since all of their products and services are paid for up front and in bulk, I still had $300-$400 worth of products owed to me. Jackie told me that they keep my records on file and that whenever I wanted to come back and pick up anything, they would be waiting for me.

After that, I can't recall exactly when, Jackie called my house to tell me that the Lebanon location was closing, and that my file would be transferred to the Hermitage, TN location. I asked her "So they know how many bars I am still owed and I can get them from there?". and she said "Yes, absolutely". I thought, ok, no worries. I had my baby in August 2008.

In November I stopped by the Hermitage location to find they had closed with no warning. I called customer service at 215-346-4400 and at 1-877-522-2577 to find out how I could get my L.A. Lites that I had spent so much money on. After several calls to customer service, and leaving a few voice messages, someone finally returned my call! I wish I remembered who i talked to, but the woman pulled up my file, saw how many boxes of bars I was owed (it was somethig like 46 boxes) and that they would be shipped to my home. She said "we will ship them, but give it about 4-6 weeks, okay?". I was thrilled!! My money was not lost!

Well, here it is January, and I still have not received anything. So I tried calling again, with no luck. When I called customer service, it would say that mailbox was full and it would hang up. I was persistent and finally someone answered. I spoke with a very rude, spiteful, unhelpful girl named Amy. I told Amy about the bars and when I might get them. She told me she didn't know why I was calling them about it that the company did not owe me anything, the owner of that particular franchise did, Barry Goodman.

I told her that the previous woman told me I would be getting my bars, and she said that I was not getting them, they weren't responsible. I explained how confused I was and just didn't understand what was going on. She got so rude and when I asked her why she ws so rude she said because she had to keep repeating herself and that I wasn't listening. She was so unprofessional, I have never been treated like that in my life! I asked for her name, she said Amy. She wouldn't give me her last name and when I asked her title she said she didn't have one.

I asked to speak to her supervisor and she said she was it. WHAT??? Unbelievable. She ended up hanging up on me. I saw here on your site that this 'girl' has been rude to others and that her name is Amy Achey, Operations Manager. So I called back and asked if she was Amy Achey, Op. Mgr., and she said yes. I told her who I was and that yesterday she didn't "have a last name nor a title".

I told her I was just trying to get to the bottom of this and get the products I paid for. She refused to give me any information or help me at all. This girl needs to be fired and taught a lesson on what "customer service" is. I am finding as I do more research online that all the LA Weight Loss centers are closing. I spent alot of money for produts and services that were not fully rendered...HELP!!!!!!!!!
