Lake Las Vegas Resort Resort ruined my wedding memories! Henderson Nevada

The power went out at my wedding reception at the Lake Las Vegas Resort after only an hour. After the power was out for 30 minutes, we were told there was no plan B for us. My husband and I were forced to make the decision to move our reception to another location to be able to continue our festivities.

None of the food wer pre-paid for 10 days in advance was eaten by us or our guests. Our band we hired only sang 5 songs and was not able to move to the second location. We also rented lighting for the original venue. All these costs, plus the costs incurred from the second location, were higher than our anticipated and allotted budget for our wedding day.

I have since then approached the resort to be reimbursed for the money that was paid to them for the goods and services we were unable to be provided due to the power going out. The resort feels it was our decision to leave, therefore, they feel we do not deserve any type of reimbursement. There is no clause in the contract that states anything about "acts of God".

This was supposed to be the happiest day of our life. The power outage was a horrible thing to happen. I have had to relive the sadness of the event every time I have begged on the phone to the owners of the resort for some form of compassion. They stand by their decision and have made us feel like we are being punished.

This is all simple contract law. I paid for services and goods that were not rendered in full. Therefore, we should be reimbursed for that portion of the money.
