Lanier Collection Agency LCA They lied to me, treated me like a common criminal and ruined my credit. Savannah, Georgia

After being contacted by this company to settle a medical bill, I asked that they verify the bill. They did. I had never received it as I had gone through a divorce, moved to another state and it was under my former husbands insurance. I had no issue paying the bill and was happy to make good on my debt. I (Had) great credit having no negative marks on there what-so-ever. I pay all of my bills and have no other debt. Initially the lady on the phone assured me that they would not put it on my credit as long as I made the payments. I started making payments and within a month this was on my credit report. I called the company and then got the other face. They were so rude to me that it left me in tears. They treated me like trash and spoke down to me like I was not worth thier time. They made suggestions that I was just not going to pay because I was a low life. When I asked her supervisor to review the supposed "recorded call" he refused saying it was not worth his time. They said this will never come off of my credit and were not willing to work with me even if I paid in full that day.

I have served my government for 8 years thus far and my husband is a sheriffs deputy who puts his life on the line every day. We are good people, we are honest people and we have no debt and pay our bills on time. Because of this we have been declined a loan to buy a home. It brought my score down over 100 points. How can anyone be allowed to outright lie to someone and get away with it? How can they treat people this way and get away with it? I am completely disgusted.
