They took my trade in, a $7000 van for a $1,500 down payment. I signed an agreement for my truck saying I would pay $400 a month then about a month later they needed me to sign a new paper. The new agreement said I'd pay over $600/month. I cannot pay that but they told me to give the keys back or sign it. At that point I would lose my $7000 trade in vehicle, the truck, and get a repo on my credit. The finance lady promised I could bring the truck back and trade it for an affordable car if I couldn't make it work. I brought it back to trade it in and I was told she no longer works there and that I was $12,000 upside down on the truck. Therefore, I would need a huge down payment to give them the truck and down grade to a cheap car. They scared me into signing the new contract and a year later I'm about to lose the truck and have my credit destroyed.

Well I'm afraid I might be SOL. I was doing the paperwork to file a complaint so I had to read through the agreements I have from LHM. I just realized they covered their a*s by falsely dating the second agreement as if it was signed the same day as the first, even though it had actually been a month difference. I'm not sure how I could prove that they changed our agreement a month later since we didn't notice the date was wrong when we signed it.

You really need to contact the Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division of the Utah State Tax Commission. They oversee all the car deakers in Utah. Spot delivery scams are specifically against the law in Utah and the MVED may still be able to help you if you contact them ASAP. Hope this helps you.
