Last Chance Buys Stole $489.99 and Lied their way out of it Beverly Hills and West Hollywood, CA Internet

September 18th, 2014 - Order #12494 for Adobe Photoshop Cs6 for Mac is placed on the website          

                                    www.lastchancebuys.com using a Barclay MasterCard for the sum of $489.99.  

 I receive a receipt for the purchase through email indicating the order is for Photoshop for a        Macintosh computer.

October 6th, 2014 - I receive a DVD for Adobe Photoshop Cs6 for PC, not an apple computer.  I immediately notify LCB of the mistake, attempting to call and email, but to no avail.

The other means of contact on the LCB website, “Live Customer Support” has never been in operation.  Filing the form for returns on the LCB website also produced no response.

October 8th, 2014 - I send the disc back to LCB by 2-Day Priority Mail with signature confirmation.

 October 10th, 2014 - The DVD for Photoshop for PC is received and signed for by M. Guthrie.

October 13th, 2014 - I receive an email from LCB requesting that i return the disc. This was the last correspondence i had with the company.  I answered indicating that i did and that it was signed for by M. Guthrie.    A link to the USPS  website proving this was included.  I requested a refund for $489.99 to be credited to my MasterCard.

 Late October 2014 - After repeated attempts to contact someone at LCB regarding my refund (all of my emails are ignored and no one ever answers the telephone), I filed a dispute with Barclay MasterCard, Dispute Case #DPO 946048

 November 24th, 2014 - A credit from LCB for $489.99 appears on my Barclay MasterCard Statement.

December 24th, 2014 - A charge from LCB for $489.99 appears on my Barclay MasterCard Statement.  I call Barclay to find out the reason:  the merchant claims that the purchase was made “in House”.  

I attempt to explain to them that this is false and i have proof, but the case had been closed and i needed to file a new dispute.

        Barclay Dispute Case #DBO 0185296 is opened.  I send to Barclay by fax and by traditional mail 4 documents:  

- A summary of events

- a copy of the purchase receipt indicating that the disc was shipped USPS Priority Mail 2-day

- a copy of the email of my last correspondence with LCB requesting the disc be returned

- and a copy of the USPS website page indicating that the disc was received and signed for

      I continue to attempt to contact LCB but to no avail.  

February 16th, 2015 - I receive a letter from Barclay:  "...merchant has since denied our request for credit based on the enclosed documentation refuting the disputed claim….we are unable to further pursue credit  on your behalf for this particular transaction because we were not provided with another qualified merchant's written opinion that the work performed by the above merchant was incomplete, unnecessary or of inferior quality.”

LCB told Barclay:  " ... customer received the goods in person and only made the payment after being able to inspect the merchandise and being satisfied with what was being received...."

Both lies. Apparently Barclay has a policy where the merchant has the last word, which enables less-than-shady business to operate under the radar.
