In 2004 I was abducted in VA and the state of VA rented me a car from Laurel Auto Reconditioning - Ed's USA Auto Rentals. So I could go to testify against the man that had abducted me from a gas station in front of my children , and he was cought when he went back to get my children that he said he would kill if I told anyone what he did this took place on January 31 ,2004 through February 1,2004 in Prince George ,VA. The state of VA paid for and rented the car for me with full coverage insurance.

On my way down I hit a deer that jumped out in front of me ,the only damage it did to the car was a dent the size of my butt. Nella the woman that work's at ED's said that the insurance don't cover acts of nature and that I would have to pay for the damages my husband offered to put a new hood on , she said that they do all the body work themselves, and that they would have to access the damages. They then took me to court. I showed up on time Nella was 15min.. lates she walked in and gave Charles Moran a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

This Charles Moran was the same man that heard the case he sided with ED'S Auto and they sued me for over more than $1,700. I have sense moved from PA for fear that when my abdutor gets out of prison that he would find me. The last check that I sent to Ed's auto is dated 7-11-05 in the memo area of the check it says car damage payment in full of $25 this is the whole dept in full thank you. I just went down on Friday March 7,2008 to get my Driver lisence here in this new state I live in , however Ed's USA Auto Rental has suspended my lisence for failure to pay judgement.

They have also issued a police pick up for me.I spoke to Judg Charles Moran and Nella and Scott Mitchell about this. Judge Moran said that that don't sound right if they already accept the check that stated full payment I told him that that's what the lawyre here in Indiana said to , he told me to have the lawyre contact him. I called Judge Moran back and let him know that the lawyre said that he cannot practice law in PA judge Moran said thats what I thought I will call you back in 5mi.. however he never called me he called Nella at Ed's and she called me and told me that I have to sign this new contract stating that I aggree to pay Ed's Auto $1,499.16 a one time payment of $200 and 6 bi-weekly payment of $50 before they will release my drivers lisence and that I would have to continue to make bi- weekly payments of $50 until paid in full or I will never get my lisence back.

I told her that I have a 8yr old son that has medical problems and need my lisence back right away she told me then I suggest you pay $500 now and sign the contract and I will release your lisence. I am not agreeing with this. How is a judge allowed to hug this lady and still hear the case its a conflict of intrest, not only that the state of VA rented me the car and had full coverage insurance what give. This is crooked all of it. Please beware of Ed's auto I don't want this to happen to you too.

Ed's Auto has been ripping off their customers since day one. Their practices are fraudulent and illegal. It is amazing that they are still in business.

Sorry about your ordeal

I felt bad when I read your story on how you were treated and your ordeal here in Pottsville.

Pottsville is a beautiful area. It is in Schuylkill County which is 80%forest.

We have clean air and a low crime rate. However, Our thinking is different than any where else.It possibly could be something in the water.

Most people have to travel out of the community to find good work. The ones that work local face lower wages. The local jobs are filled with people that have less skills. They work hard for a small amount of money. This has gone from one generation to another. So, when we see a dollar we will latch on and not let go. To prove this theory go into almost any store with money in your hand in Pottsville.

The clerk will remove the money from your hand then ask you what you need. It is cultural

I just read online that Judge Moran has passed away. That is how I found your article.

I do know that he took care of his friends.I do know that he would go as far as a cover-up to protect his friends. I am sure in his eyes he thought he was doing the right thing.

Please excuse our backward thinking.

Ed's USA Rebuttal

AUTHOR: Ed''s USA - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, July 03, 2012

I would just like to clarify a few discrepencies with this report on behalf of Ed's USA Auto Rentals. Although this rental vehicle was paid for by the state of Virginia, the person signing the contract is the actual renter for the vehicle, and thus is bound by the terms and conditions of said agreement. The coverages that were purchased in conjunction with this rental were a collision damage waiver, personal accident insurance, and supplemental liability insurance. As the report clearly states the renter of the vehicle hit a deer with with the vehicle. This would be classified as a comprehensive claim against a standard insurance policy. Comprehensive coverage is not offered from our company as an optional coverage.

We do not allow any customers to repair damages that occur while they are on rent. All repairs are performed at an accredited facility so that damage will be fixed to acceptable standards. This is the policy of almost all rental companies.

The entire statement listed regarding the practices of District Justice Charles Moran are heresay, and highly doubtful.

After receiving a judgment for the amount of damages, we are always willing to set up payment arrangements in order to accomodate our customers. In this particular case, the arrangement was not followed by the defendant. In the state of Pennsylvania it is legal to suspend the driver's license of a party found guilty of damage to leased/ rented property. This is the course of action we were forced to persue once the defendant refused, and still refuses to pay for the damage to our vehicle. Once an account gets to this point, a simple payment arrangement of a few dollars a month is not sufficient to satisfy our account. Our policy is that we will release the suspension of the license with a payment equal to 1/2 of the balance due, and bi-weekly or monthly payments. This agreement must be made in writing.

It is a shame that we are forced to use these means to resolve accounts of this matter, but unfortunatley in most cases we have no other options to recover the money for damages that we have paid to have our vehicles repaired. All other amicable options are persued before accounts reach this status.
