Laurie no matter how you want to twist the truth around the facts are simple. You waited and you say this in your own words 10 days to take this poor puppy to the vet. Read your lies, how he was so sick that he had to be spoon fed. It was all lies, and the appeals Judge knew this and he found me INNOCENT of any wrong doing concerning Buster. So I know this upsets you greatly that JUSTICE was finally done on May 7 but it is the truth. Dr. Horn never found this pup sick and simply put a pup having a parasite is common. A fact that the original Judge ignored.

Laurie you are the one who stated that the pup was so sick, you told me you had to carry him in and out of the house because he was so weak. All the breeders who read this report know that you are a liar and some have told you so. Internal parasites such as cocci and giardia do not show themselves until the pup is under stress. Which Buster must have had alot of stress put on him because he was an older pup and usually by his age they are able to shed the parasite themselves. So you are guilty of abuse, Buster never had an outbreak when he was with me.

According to NJ SPCA investigators, Donna Roberts in August 2007 was charged with five counts of animal cruelty under NJ Statute 4:22-26L, for willfully selling or offering to sell an animal with a contagious or infectious disease.

At her trial in Shamong Municipal Court in December 2007, Roberts was found guilty of three of those five charges.

On appeal in April, two charges were dismissed, one due to jurisdiction the dog was sold in Howell instead of Shamong - the other because one of the testifying veterinarians said that the coccidia "more than likely" originated at the sellers kennel. The court determined that was not enough to prove beyond a reasonable doubt.

Just because a charge is dismissed on a technicality does not mean the animals were not sick.

The other cruelty conviction still stands.

So, why didn't you state the accurate details, Donna? Once again, you made it seem like you did nothing wrong and were free and clear. You admitted selling the puppies with Coccidia and Giardia, among other things, hernias, ear infections..and that's ok, with you? It's not okay with me and is unacceptable. Get off it, Donna, you know the story. I called you before you went to Florida and while you were there. I gave you complete details about what was going on..you did not respond until July 20th. Go back to the vet bill posted on the other site. The minute I saw that the vet gave that puppy a shot, it was over for you, totally. NO VET BOOSTS SICK PUPS, IT'S JUST NOT DONE. I knew it was all lies. Remember I worked for a vet for 7 years. Nothing on that vet bill was an indication of a SICK PUP. And also the fact Dr. Horn refused to give you an UNFIT FOR PURCHASE.

So to your adoring fans and any other interested party, I give you the TRUTH. If you believe her lies then she is totally GUILTY of ANIMAL ABUSE, no two ways about it. Sick pups need to go to the vet imminently not wait 10 days.

We purchased a 16 wk. old Havanese puppy from Shady Oak Havanese/Donna Roberts in Shamong, NJ in June, 07.

The puppy was diagnosed with Coccidia, Giardia (contagious and infectious parasitic diseases), an Umbilical Hernia (requiring surgery) and a Yeast Infection in both ears. He then was diagnosed with Gastritis from being so sick due to the parasitic diseases. (x-rays were done to rule out blockage due to the hernia and risk of intestines becoming entrapped.) We were never informed of any health or other issues our puppy had at time of purchase. Ms. Roberts admits knowing about the hernia at time of sale, but, did not inform us.

Ms. Roberts was CONVICTED of Animal Cruelty in Dec. 07...3 counts for selling puppies with contagious/infectious disease, and was found by NJ Division of Consumer Affairs to be in Violation of many regulations regarding the sale of dogs. Ours is not the only complaint!!

This false allegation by Ms. Roberts, is simply a desperate measure on her part to take the attention away from her Convictions and Violations.

The "sales agreement" is not even a legal document and is void because of Ms. Roberts failure to provide the buyers the documents required by NJ Law at time of purchase. Her name appears nowhere on the sales agreement and she did not sign the document. Our AKC papers had inaccurate information which Ms. Roberts has acknowledged. We were not able to reach Ms. Roberts after the sale, we tried several times and sent letters. Ms. Roberts did not inform us that she would be "out of town", if she had I would have expected that she would have given us an emergency contact or alternate number for us to reach her...which, of course, she did not. She claims she left 4 days after our purchase..we tried calling during those 4 days, we received no response. Ms. Roberts responded approximately 20 days later.

Everything was fully explained and the documentation (Unfit for Purchase, Election of Option, bills, etc..) was forwarded to Ms. Roberts...she is required to reimburse the medical bills for ALL of the issues regarding the illness(es). If Ms. Roberts did not agree with the findings at the time, she had the opportunity to contest it, instead of telling us she would "take care of it." The Frontline and Heart Worm Meds.. were neither administered or applied to the puppy on the initial visit to the Vet. We simply purchased them that day...for the one hundredth time, we did not ever ask that routine care costs be reimbursed.

My factual and accurate complaint can be found under Shady Oak Havanese, on Ripoff Report, with detailed descriptions of the events. It will become obvious who is telling the truth. We have nothing to hide, nor have we done anything wrong. This has all been explained a million times.

Ms. Roberts is just trying to place the blame on others, it's everyone else's fault..it seems, all the time. It's a sad shame that Ms. Roberts continues to make false allegations, in fact, it's rather ironic and risky to make such an outrageous and completely false accusation. Ms. Roberts has also threatened and made personal attacks on myself and my family in these reports.


We did not abuse our puppy, WE MADE HIM WELL!! I have stated the facts many times, we told the Judge the facts..you were Convicted on three counts of Animal Cruelty and are still in violation of NJ Consumer Law...nothing you say will change the truth.

I do not understand why it is so difficult for Ms. Roberts to do the right thing. I will not comment any further on this report. My information is accurate and complete.

Donna Roberts, I would advise and request a retraction of your false allegation against me, regarding animal abuse... immediately. (Second request for retraction)!!
