Law Offices Of Fred Hannah And Associates Ripoff I have recieved constant threats of law suits and wage garnishments and was intimidated into a payment plan without having the opportunity to dispute debt Marietta Georgia

The Law Offices of Fred Hannah and Associates contacted me about an outstanding debt that I had with Bank of America. They contacted me by calling my mothers home and leaving a message on her answering machine stating that they would have to file a law suit against me if I did not return their call to resolve my debt. I never received a letter in the mail from them in order to dispute this debt.

During my first phone conversation with this supposed law office, I spoke with a woman named Ms. House. She informed me that if I did not set up a payment plan with her at that time that she would be forced to file a suit against me. I was first asked to put my debt on a credit card in which I refused to do so. She then asked me to borrow the money from a family member or even my boss. The last option was to pull out my check book and to pay a down payment by post dated check and then set up a number of payments throughout the next eight months. In doing this, I was informed that my debt would be cleared.

Eight months later, I contacted Fred Hannah's office in order to get a statement from them to show my soon to be landlord that I had payed my debt which was shown on my credit report. I spoke to a man named Ed who informed me that I still owed $2500 on this debt and that we needed to set up another payment plan. I asked him to send me a statement before pulling out my checkbook again and explained to him that I was told last time if I agreed to a payment plan that my debt would be resolved. He said that was not the case and that I still owed $2500. He said that Fred Hannah's office is a law office and they don't send statements to debtors. I asked to speak with a supervisor and he put me on hold. He returned a few moments later to inform me that a receptionist would type up my statement and mail it to me but that it would take some time seeing as how they aren't an accounting agency they are a law firm. I of course, was in disbelief and this began my investigation of the reputation of this law firm.

It's been three months and I have yet to receive a statement. Yesterday I received a call at my place of work from a woman who spoke so fastly that I was unable to get her name. She informed me that if I did not set up a payment plan at that moment that she would be forced to garnish wages from my paycheck. I asked her for a statement and she asked me if she could fax me one. My response was no, I do not want my coworkers to see my personal business and it is against our company policy to conduct personal business on company time. She told me that she would have to overnight this statement to my home because it was only a matter of days before the garnishment would go into effect. She asked to speak to the human resources department in order to begin the process of garnishing my wages. Big mistake on her part, I'm fully responsible for our company's payroll and I would never garnish an employees wages without an order from the court. She then asked to speak to the registered agent of the company that I work for, which I would have been glad to hand her over to the owner of my company but he was conducting a meeting. Instead I pulled our vice president from this meeting to talk to her. It didn't do much good on her behalf because he told her that Fred Hannah's law office was not to for any reason contact me at work.

Im ready for them to start making good on their threats. I would love for this to go to court. They are a backwards, shady, no good law firm and they dont stick by what their website claims. I hope to return to this site with only updates in my favor but chances are they will try to harrass, intimidate me once again.
