Our dream was to buy an RV for our family , we saved money for year and when the time has come we started to look for the best RV that was in our budget.

We went to RV dealer in Ft. Lauderdale and looked at some models; we have decided to purchase the discovery 40G made by Fleetwood. This coach was exactly what we needed for our 2 litlle kids and for us. The second reason we decided to choose Fleetwood is the dealership in Fort Lauderdale . Since we are in the transportation business, we wantd to have a dealership that is close to our home for services and repairs. The dealership in Ft. Lauderdale did not have this RV in stock and told us it will take several month to order it and get it. Since we didnt want to wait we found another fleetwood dealership named Lazy Days RV's in Seffner, FL. When we called Lazy Days to get info on the coach we were transferred to a very sleek sales rep named Daniel Harris that " every option that is on brouchure is in the coach, you get all the extras" he said. He also told us that the RV is arriving from the manufacture in Indiana " You get an RV that nobody stepped inside; this is a brand new coach."

He knew exactly what to say to get us to sign the agreement. We have them a deposit of $1000 over the pohne and the deal was sealed.

The RV arrived approximately 10 days later to Lazy Days and we srove to Seffner to bring the RV.

That was when we met Daniel Harris in person. We spent half a day signing paperwork and then we were taken to the RV. Since we had no experience on what to look for, the delivery advisor briefly explained us how to operate the RV. Needless to say that it was done very fast. He was in a hurry to finish and goto the other customers that were waiting; we spent the night at the parking lot of Lazy Days. We did address some minor damages that were done the cabinets and were visible. They sent somebody to fix it it and we drove away the next day. Then we startedto discover all the defects and broken things that were on this coach.  We called FleetWood dealership on Fort Lauderdale to schedule an appointment to repair the broken things. The first question they asked was where did we purchase the RV. We told them that it was in Lazy Days and them immediately said that they dont service RV's that were not purchased in their dealership. Shocked by their answer we called FleetWood customer service, hoping that it was just a misunderstanding. It wasnt a misunderstanding. We were told by Kathy at Fleetwood that every dealership has the right to refuse service a customer.

The next dealership that is close to our home is Northtrail RV in For Myers, 137 miles away.

Mr. Duane Maxson was the customer relation advisor that was assigned to us and when we first spoke to him he was determined to help us and promised he will . After his investigation about the answer we got from Ft. Lauderdale dealer, he called back and said that this dealership is no longer a Fleetwood dealer . It sounded very fishy simply because when we went on Fleetwood website this dealership was still listed as one of their loacaions. He tried to convince us to take the coach to Northtrail in For Myers. It was impossible mission for us as we have a 6 year old , a 2 year old and my wife was pregnant. In order to get to Northtrail RV, we would have to take our kids with us, follow the coach with the car, and come back 137 miles each way. When we explained Mr. Maxson he was very understanding and tried to find local RV shop to repair the coach. He couldn't find any reputable shop and then he aske us to try and find one. we have contacted Tour America RV's , we gave Mr. Maxson their information and Mr. Maxson said that we will have to pay Tour America, sent the invoices and they will send us a reimbursement check.

As to Mr. Maxson's insturctions , we made a list of all the broken / damaged things we have found, and tour america started to work on repairing our coach. We submitted the invoices to Mr. Maxson and received 1 check from Fleetwood.

When my wife called called Mr. Maxson to inquire about the other unpaid invoices, Mr. Maxson started to give us all kind of reasons to why they didnt send us the checks, now the story was changed and he didnt want us to work with Tour America, he insisted that we will go to the dealership in Fort Myers.

Then we agreed to finish the repairs at Tour America and if there will be future repairs we will take the coach to Fort Myers. FleetWood refuse to reimburse us for the money we spent on reparing items that are under warranty.  With no choice left we called the Northtrail RV and scheduled an appointment for service and repairs. I had to pay a worker to follow me with my car, when i got there the service advisor did a walkthrough with me to mark all the repairs needed to be done on the coach, one of them was a crack on the passenger side mirror base. When he looked at it, he called the Jonathan Rapp who is the body shop manager and he inspected the mirror and said that this RV was in an accident.

We were completely stunned. We couldnt belive what he told us. He took pictures of the mirror and then the service advisor told us that since there is so much work needed to be done on the coach they cant accept us. I left there with no where to go, a worker that is getting paid by the hour to drive my car and my "Brand New" 2009 $200,000 broken Coach . When we called Fleetwood customer service to speak to Duane Maxson we were told that he is no longer with FleetWood.

Since I was already in Fort Myers i decided to call Lazy Days, the dealership where we bought this RV, I was transferred to a service manager named Judy Bolton when i told her what was said to me by Jonathan Rapp at Northtrail RV, she checked and admitted that there was some "reinforcement" done on this mirror. She also told me that by the time i will get there the service department will be closed and she will see me in the morning. I had to spend the night there with my wroker, who is getting paid by the hour. The next morning I called Daniel Harris, the salesman that solf me the RV. I asked him if he can come outside and look at the mirror and his words were " How dare you call me with those demands ? and who are you to ask me to come outside ?" For some reason I wasnt suprised by his asnwer. He got his commision, now he doesnt want to take responsibility on anything.I met with Judy Bolton and she assigned Theresa Patton as my service advisor, when I addressed all the problems we had with the RV, she said tat it will be ready no later than July 31, 2009. We contracted FleetWood customer service reagrding the accident that our new coach was involved, they deny any accidents. We have also contracted consumer affair divison and when the gentleman  heard about our story he immediately told us that Fleetwood are in violation of the motor vehicle damage disclosure.

Here are some of the damages to my brand new RV which were discovered in the first six month of using it :
One once occasion when we were driving and made a right turn, the exterior kitchen slide out completely , luckely there were no cars or pedestrians to the right side, otherwide it could have ended tragically , all the compatments doors are loose and open during driving. All the comparments doors does not close properly . The exterior TV door wasnt installed properly causing the door to fall and there are deep dents and gouaches to the wall, water is leaking inside the TV compartment, slide out wass gasket leaks, interior light above driver sear has water coming in, microwave shakes badly when driving, DVD player is not working, cabinet doors dont close, front hood latch loose, bedroom door was installed too low- causing damage to the carpet when closing the slide, master bed comes detached from wall and the list goes on.....

Until today , our coach is in Lazy Days being worked on (8/20/09). When I called Theresa Patton to find out when they will finish the repairs, she said that they are waiting on parts from FleetWood.

This coach was our biggest dream that turned into a nightmare. We have tried to contact both Fleetwood and Lazy Days and all we got is unprofessional , unethical behavior, liess and runarounds.

We feel that both lazy days and Fleetwood refuse to take responsibility and admit that the coach that was sold to us was poorly assembled and involved in some accident.

They left us with no choice but to contact the authorities and hire an attorney to handle this matter
