I made appointment to have routine wheel bearing service on our fifth wheel RV for morning we were breaking camp and leaving for our next destination.  We left unit and while having breakfast the service tech called to say we needed new brake shoe assys.  I agreed for them to do that and when we got back to the shop the servicemanager said that the brake drums were badly scored and would have to be replaced.  They ordered new drums but luckily the ones they received were wrong.  By that time it was late afternoon, service manager, Mark Epperson, said he would call me before he went home to update me.  He never called.  Next morning when we got to shop he said the correct drums were a week out.  They installed the brake shoe assys, and I hope did the wheel bearings, and I headed for our next destination with original drums.  On the way up to Yankton, our next destination, maximum gain was required on brake controller to have any trailer brakes.  I had made a point of asking Epperson if the brakes would be properly adjusted and he assured me that they would.

When I got to Yankton I made appointment at a brake shop to have brake drum issue addressed. On appointed day we broke camp and took trailer in to the shop.  Not only did the drums not need replacing they didn't even need resurfacing.  The brakes however did need adjusting.  Had they been able to get the correct brake drums I would have been ripped off of several hundred dollars.  I now seriously doubt that new brake shoes were needed.  It cost me 181 dollars to have wheels disassembled by a reputable shop to find out the drums were alright.  I would consider Leach Campers a very crooked outfit.  Maybe they target seniors passing through.
