As a small business contracting firm, we usually do not have a call for us to take credit cards. Approximately 4 months ago, we had a client who could only do the job if we took credit cards. He bought a home and caught in the economic downturn wished to put cabinet finishing on a Visa.

We contacted Leaders and contracted with them to utilize their services. All downhill from there.

First, did not tell us they were placing a limit of 1,000.00 per month on credit we could take. The client wanted to place 3000.00 on a card in 1500.00 increments. The client was instantly granted the credit, Leaders would not credit us with the money citing credit limit. What credit limit, it was my client's open credit and it went through. What contractor does work all the time for 1000.00 or less every time. Took an inordinate amount of time and phone calls to get the 3000.00 credit line and still was limited to 1500.00 per time. So when this same client did additional work for 100.00 more and wished to charge 1600.00 not 1500.000 another big hassle. Took weeks to get our money when Leaders had our money and their percentage of chargeback. Leaders lacks integrity or interest in servicing its consumers. It does not value its clients.

WORST - they send us a notice that says they will be charging our account 129.00 to upgrade their own system to be compliance with I believe PCA mandated fraud protection so that crooks cannot access the information we input into their system about our clients. How is this our problem. This was not in our contract and we were not given a legal choice to accept it. When we the first party at this establishment, a woman, my husband believes was called Laura. She affirmed that the charge, which I beieve to be illegal, would indeed not be reversed, but that she would break it up into three equal payments against auto draft. Then we get notice not so already drafted out in one draft. Called Ted told him story "too bad, so sad" attitude. Asked for the number to Legal Dept told we could not have it. Asked for Corporate designee in case we Wished to Sue Told Could Not Have It. Illegal in and of itself. Told to call Supervisor, just another rep Ben same story.

Said maybe we should cancel account, Told In No Uncertain Terms There would be a 350.00 cancellation fee as we were cancelling early on a 3-year contract. Never Disclosed, am sure in fine print but never stated. Really shoddy disreputable company. Also monthly charges disclosed, but not dormany fees, etc. Fees continually increasing by the month.

RUN DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. CLASS ACTION ANYONE?

REBUTTAL TO: DAVID E. of DME HOSTING

AUTHOR: Sarah - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, October 12, 2009

The merchant's account was closed due to an excessive number of Cardholder disputes. LEADERS did not cause the Cardholder disputes and has worked with the merchant for several months to try and correct or alleviate the issue. Processed funds were held on the merchant's account to secure against future losses, as LEADERS holds the liability of any loss associated with the merchant's account. LEADERS has been more than cooperative with the merchant in explaining the loss and providing a detail of the amount due. The merchant is more than welcome to contact our Merchant Support and Risk Department for an additional accounting detail of any funds due. To reiterate, the amount due was caused by the merchant's clients disputing items and not by any action taken by LEADERS.

I would like to agree that they are very rude when you are trying to figure out what is happening. You have to bounce around all over their phone system to figure out what is going on. We just go ta letter from their collections with debt we owe them. We then asked about the funds they withheld from us, NOBODY knows where our funds are that they owe us! This company is a joke!

Sarah, stop apologizing to us all and then put your company on a pedestal in how you were in the "right" to do what you do to all of us. Horrible customer service.

When the merchant started processing transactions higher than her approved value our Risk Department was obligated to intercede.

LEADERS Merchant Services would like to apologize to this merchant for her experience with our Risk Department. We at LEADERS pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service and to hear a complaint such as this is disheartening.
This merchant seems to be upset with our company for charging her fees that are clearly indicated and signed for by the merchant on our contract. The merchant provided our sales representative with an average transaction value and then signed for that amount on the application. When the merchant started processing transactions higher than her approved value our Risk Department was obligated to intercede. LEADERS properly requested additional financial information from the merchant to review her account so that she may process larger transactions. This information must be requested as LEADERS is essentially guaranteeing and assuming all the liability of these transactions. This is done to protect the processor and the merchant and is a practice followed by all processors. We at LEADERS pride ourselves in providing our merchant's with quality service and regret that the merchant feels our service was less than satisfactory. Under the circumstances we followed standard industry practices.
LEADERS would also like to address the merchant's concerns with the PCI compliance fee;
PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) is an Association established standard, required of all processors, which has been developed to endeavor and to safeguard against cardholder data compromises at the merchant level. All processors are engaged in PCI initiatives to assure merchant compliance, and to the best of our knowledge all processors are assessing PCI fees, accordingly. While we understand that no one enjoys the assessment of fees, the PCI services we are providing to our merchants are exemplary, our fee is very competitive, and our merchant agreement provides for the implementation of such services and fees. Compliance with PCI is a mandated requirement and we and our merchants have no alternative but to adhere to these standards.
Leaders Merchant Services would like to apologize for any misunderstandings she may have with our company and would like to wish this merchant the best of luck in all future endeavors

I finally was able to cancel them (had to wait a few years before I could do this without charges). I faxed in a letter requesting to be canceled, which I confirmed that they received by calling them.
They still have me enrolled, and have decide to charge me this month:
$20 monthly charge
$39 monthly fee
$99 annual fee

This stuff has been going on for years!

I want to join a class action law suit against this company
