This company has gotten my elderly mothers phone number and some else name. They call her 5 - 6 times a day. They keep asking for someone who doesn't live there and when she say they have the wrong number, the guy called her a lying B**CH.

They call her a deadbeat, a stupid w***e and tell her that her husband is a pice of S**T.

Recently they have started calling and telling her that Mr. so&so (don't want to give out this other persons name) has won a cruise and they need to speak with him. When she says there is no one there with that name, they curse at her and hang up.

My parents have enough to deal with and do not need this added to list of daily routines.

I've been called by LERS for a Direct Merchants Card I failed to pay off when I entered the Military, First thing i noticed was the number that showed up on my caller I.D. 800-663-4707, my first thought was "oh no, a tellamarketer" when i found out who they where i thought Oh-$h!t a bill collector, i admit the guy i talked to was a it abrupt and seriously assertive but he was right, i failed to honor an obligation for a long time and despite my reason for not paying, I still failed to honor that agreement i made when i got the card which egerly used and ran the limit up faster than i expected to. Let's admit it when we get the credit cards we use them and knowing the consequences of not paying we forget about some of those same conseqences, such as dealing with bill collectors who I would assume get a medioker salry and make their real money based on production, also the people have to deal with actual deadbeats who run up credit cards with no intent to pay, I know you all know AT LEAST one person like that.

I'm not comming to the rescue for those collectors who blatently break the law, cause I'm sure they make it hard for collectors who don't in addition to the mental stress added to consumers who have good intentions but no means to pay. "The roads to hell are paved with good intentions". these people have to deal with people who hang up on them verbally abuse them and constantly lie to them, theres only one way to get rid of a bill collector.........pay them and you don't have to worry about them, even if you see an 800 number on your caller id, don't answer and if you do and it's the wrong number tell them, they probably don't wanna waste their time if your not the right party, don't just hang up when they ask for someone you don't know, cause they think it's the debtor who's evading, and if it's a bill collector calling for you.......... PAY YOUR BILLS!!!!!

You where quick to use it, run it up at let it go to collections, have some integrity, make it a priority to pay it, don't have the "my other bills and financial obligations are nore important" cause their not, you took the money and used for what you wanted and knew the consequences of not paying. We as Americans tend to exploit our rights and freedoms a little too much

You need to get a phone recorder for your parents. The next time these clowns call, tell them they are recording the conversation, that they are calling the wrong number and that if they call again, they will call the Police Department, the Attorney General's office AND the FTC and file charges. Go get 'em!
