I leased a bankcard machine from Canada Bankcard Systems and Lease Finance Group. I returned the machine over half way through the lease. They never returned phone calls, charges were questionable and they shut the machine off and lied about the reason. I was uncomfortable using an unethical business handling customer credit cards nd debit. The machine was returned, receipt confirmed and letter explaining why given. I then stopped the direct withdrawal ability.

Then I looked back over the bank statements. What I found shocked me.
- they charged more every month than in the agreement ( after including insurance and tax)
- there were at least six unauthorized withdrawals (thefts actually)
- they removed the lease payments twice one month
- they used differing company names
- withdrawals from LFG and Canada Bankcard went to the same account. I found this out through a bank investigation.

Then phone calls started. Repetitive and repeatedly, daily. They would like payment on the lease they have been stealing money from me on.
Apparently, I have to continue to pay for the priveledge of being screwed.
They call home or office constantly.

They have no accountability or accept any responsibilty for anything. If words come out of their mouth- it's a lie.

Based on internet accounts from these extortionists I'm in for a very bad time.
I've gotten calls from Canada, US and Britain regarding the returned machine

They breached their own contract repeatedly and it should be kept in the washroom in case the toilet paper runs out.

However, the multiple phone calls from apparently differing countries is an attempt to confuse intimidate and extort.

If anyone was any advice on how to stop the harassing calls on a machine they used to steal money from me on, I'd like to hear.

Oh boy

A suggestion

These folks might be able to help you. Good luck with this and don't let yourself be railroaded.

Go to google and search for "service Alberta consumer information" and one of the hits will be the Gov't of Alberta consumer protection folks. I can't paste the URL as this response will not accept active content, but do some searching and you'll find local resources.

I wish I would have read this first...

AUTHOR: shopgirl - (Canada)

POSTED: Thursday, October 21, 2010

I wish I would have read these reports first. I was caught on a very bad day by the aforementioned salesman "Paul", I was frustrated with my current debit/credit card system and made a foolish mistake by agreeing almost immediately to Paul bringing in the new system. The old adage, "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is", certainly applies here. For several months the charges were what they were supposed to be, and then recently I looked back over the summer months and realized that there were numerous charges coming out of my bank that made zero sense. I called the company "Help" line, and was told I would receive a call back. No one ever called back. I tried calling every day for a week and there was no longer any answer at the company at all, the phone just rang and rang with no answer!  I immediately canceled my bank account because this was clearly a very sketchy situation. This was several weeks ago and the calls from Canada Bank Card just started coming today from Florida. From what I've read of this company they will continue to harass me and go after my credit rating. This worries me somewhat, and I'm curious what the results and aftermath have been for everyone else who has been involved in contracts with these people. I'd appreciate any advice.

Paul the salesman

AUTHOR: Beaks - (Canada)

POSTED: Friday, June 12, 2009

I had Paul come visit at my store and I didn't trust him and I'm glad I've read this report.

I own a business south of Calgary, and he came in and his first lie was that he was with Interac. It's a great opening since, as a business owner, I figure he's here to give me some info or check on how my service is or something of the like.

Then he gradually slides into his sales pitch by telling me how I could be getting a better rate with another company, like the one Costco uses (Avalon? or something) and tells me about the great rates. Of course I'm interested in looking at other options.

Then the kicker... he gives me his card, takes one of mine and tells me he'll follow up on his offer by email! Well, since he never told me what company he represents or that he's actually here to try and switch my service, I was hoping I'd never hear from him again.

I received his ad flyer in email and of course there's nothing other than the amazing rates that they offer for visa and mastercard. No lease cost info or any other costs or details of the agreement.

So he's getting the heave-h*o from me. I don't deal with companies that have unscrupulous sales people like Paul.

Our sincere apologies

AUTHOR: Daniel - (Canada)

POSTED: Thursday, March 12, 2009

Sometimes in the course of business (close to 10 years) sometimes a situation may fall through the cracks and we must take immediate action. We apologize to the 2 posters, I wish we had their information so we could verify that they were indeed clients of the company and not posted by unfair competitors.

I welcome and insist that the 2 individuals that have posted some negative information about our company come forward with their complaint and I will assure them that it will be resolved instantly.

I appreciate the opportunity give by the ripoff report to set the record straight. There is no company or business on the planet that has never had an unhappy client. However, what is important is to set the record straight. If these individuals are real, then let them come forward, give me a call and I will correct it. If they do not come forward, well, then the issue is obviously fake.

Thank you

Help Wanted

AUTHOR: Diamond Girl - (Canada)

POSTED: Saturday, November 01, 2008

Dear Oh Boy

I am from a small town near Calgary and was signed up with Canada Bankcard Systems by Paul , he sure told you everything you wanted to hear and it was all a lie -- everything-- .My contract that i signed there is two spots that he whited out and rewrote a different amount, does that not make this contract VOID!!!!.

My next problem is they keep taking money out of my account that I have no idea what for, and you phone and you can't talk to anyone, they want you to fax in a copy of your bank statement.

He said that we could get out of this contract at any time with no problem, now we find out it is 350$, and first data leasing in non cancelable.

I talked to a lawyer, he said just go to the bank and cancel all pre authorized withdrawls and send machine back, and that they would probably try to ruin my credit rating, not sure if I want that, or the 100 phone calls a day I would receive..

I would like to know what you have done about this, and is there anyone we can call to help get us out of this mess. There are 4 other businesses besides myself in town that signed up
