Legacy LD International ripoff on collect calls Cypress California

I accepted two collect calls from Hiawassee, GA and I live in St. Augustine, FL. The first call was on 8/27/2005 at 3:20 PM and the call was for 40 minutes, the charge was $57.50. The second call was on 8/28/2005 at 4:47 PM for 6 minutes and the charge was $20.10. This is a rip off.

My husband and I both have cell phones but he was not able to use it in Hiawassee, GA. The cell phone did not work at all in Hiawassee, GA. My land line provider is BellSouth and I thought that if I accepted a call it would have been through my provider.

I am going to file a report with Better Business Bureau as well as contact the Regulations Division about the charges from Legacy LD Intl Inc. My total bill was $93.62 for these two calls. The total just for the calls was $77.60, the other charges were for Federal Universal Service Fund Fee = $7.92, Carrier Assessed - Administrative Fee - $2.50, Taxes on Regulated Services: Federal Excise Tax - $2.33, FL - State Communications Tax - $1.84 and FL Local Communications Tax - $1.43.

I agree that I should pay for the collect calls but not at this amount. Total Ripoff and something needs to be done about this. I am sure this has happened to others.
