LEO BOOHAKER LEO BOOHAKER IS A FRAUD AND SO IS 250TAX.COM. LIES ABOUT ABILITY TO REPRESENT AND CREDENTIALS LONGMONT Colorado

So, here I find myself in a tax mess with the IRS and State.  I am hard of hearing, so I email around to different companies to get information, and find that I really can’t afford some of these fees.  I come across this website called 250tax.com which on the header of the website specifically states “$250 Is Your Total Cost”.  So, I email the guy, named LEO, who says absolutely, he can help me. 

But obviously the 250 is your total cost concerns me, so I ask him about this – I mean I can’t even get an attorney to write me a letter for 250.00 let alone someone solve all my tax problems for that….So, I ask him if he is an attorney, and about the fee. 

He says, and I quote, “Please read and review the website carefully and that should answer most of your personal questions. I have attended two law schools.  As far as costs, we provide service here $250.00 at a time.  I do not know what the total amounts owed at this point are.  Let me throw out a number here of $2,250.00 which would be the total and final cost.  You would make payments of $250.00 at a time so that you would be able to continuously assess and review our work. You will be able to concel our services at any time“. 

This obviously is a bit frustrating, since his website basically says $250.00 is your total cost.  So, I ask, “At any rate, I'd like a quote, since your estimate is much less than others.  You say you attended 2 law schools - so you are an attorney?  And, would you would be my representative?  I am very skeptical of this industry, especially after reading your website.  I hope you can understand.  If you don't mind, i would like to look up your bar number so i can make sure all is legit.  What state are you located in?” 

He replies, “Yes, I will be your representative Warren, and I have a CAF number with the Internal Revenue Service, and am Circular 230 Complaint. That is all that is required for me to represent you. I will go ahead and prepare a proposal for your review by end of day, and we can touch base in the morning.”

But now, I start to worry because he just said he attended 2 law schools....Not that he was in fact an attorney. So, I decided to wait until I get the proposal.  I do, in fact get a proposal, but the forms do not contain a CAF number, only a number on page 2 of the 2848.  Additionally, the cover letter in his email states, “ONLY AN TAX ATTORNEY, CPA OR ENROLLED AGENT CAN REPRESENT YOU BEFORE THE IRS. Our Senior Tax Consultant contains a Masters In Tax Law from a top ranked law school.” 

So, I ask him about this, and request references. THIS IS HOW HE REPLIES!!!! “Warren, I have a niece who is hearing impaired and I am afraid that you may have some connection to her as I am disjoined from that part of the family.  Her executor is an old jewish tax law firm, so I do not wish to provide you with any more information other than we are an honest firm and will do the job as you ask.  I do not wish to spend any more time on this so if you wanna do it great- if not then good luck. “

I obviously snap back to this, because first, what does his hard of hearing niece with an executor being an old Jewish tax law firm have anything to do with his credentials???  Is he trying to offend me because I’m hard of hearing?   So, I ask this, as well as why he can’t provide me with references, and he writes back, “do not contact me again.”  My initial plan was to write to the BBB, but there is no affiliation or listing there.

I continue reading through the paperwork he sent to me, because now, I’m doing my research.  In his bio, titled MORE ABOUT LEO BOOHAKER, it states that he was a "Secret Service Agent for President Ronald Reagan, while serving as Commander and Chief. Leo has been in the company and served as staff to General Alexander M. Haig and Former Secretary of State James Baker".

Since Ronald Reagan’s presidency ended in 1989, was he a secret service agent while attending college????  Or does he consider being special assistant to the Student Government Association and Chairman of the College Republican Association being part of the Secret Service and on Alexander Haig’s staff?  (http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=1842&dat=19870221&id=3s4yAAAAIBAJ&sjid=hcgEAAAAIBAJ&pg=1545,4559747)

It also says, he has maintained A+ ratings for over 50 years. According to Instant People Finder on the Internet, this guy is 46 years old.  Has LEO BOOHAKER been doing business since before he was born?  And A+ rated in WHAT?  There is no affiliation with any sort of rating system (BBB or otherwise) for LEO BOOHAKER, LEO BOOHAKER AND ASSOCIATES OR 250TAX.COM.  

In fact, the Colorado Secretary of State shows that he has only been in business since 10/24/12 and his website WWW.250TAX.COM was just published in December of 2012. (http://wscheck.com/trust-report/250tax.com).

I went to the Alabama State board of accountancy where you can search licensed people since per HIS bio, he got his CPA after attending the University of Alabama, and the number that was on the 2^nd page of the 2848 is the same number here:

I checked the Colorado Bar Association for any type of bar number.  NOTHING, NO LISTING OF ANY KIND. 

I am considering reporting fraudulent representation to the IRS.  His email says “GOOGLE BOOHAKER AND COMPLAINTS” vs. other companies, well here’s my complaint. 

LEO BOOHAKER, BOOHAKER AND ASSOCIATES, 250TAX.COM (ALL THE SAME PERSON/COMPANY) IS A FRAUD AND A LIAR AND I WOULD WATCH YOUR STEP IF YOU EVEN CONSIDER HIRING THIS MAN.
