Lester Glenn Hyundai Of Toms River Lester Glenn Hyundai Service Department gives you nothing but the run around Toms River New Jersey
This is the second Lester Glenn Hyundai that I’ve owned. My previous Sonata with a 2008 Hyundai Sonata purchased from Lester Glenn as well that I had issues with and filed a previous report on that Sonata as well. Some would call me a loyal customer to Lester Glenn Hyundai, but the dealer is not loyal to their customers at all.
My current Lester Glenn Hyundai is a 2012 Hyundai Sonata 2.0 Turbo. I’ve had the vehicle roughly two years now, and have had nothing but issues for the last 8-12 months. Most recent and biggest issue yet is I’m have issues with my brake system and transmission. The brake pedal goes to the floor as if the brake pads needed to be changed, but the pads and rotors were changed as of January/February of 2014, and the last time I had the vehicle in for service which was less than a month ago for the same issue, they inspected the brake pads in the green zone on their inspection sheet. I’m also experiencing Automatic Transmission problems to where the transmission under normal driving conditions will slam gears because it will either shift late and slam the next gear or the transmission will jump gears for no apparent reason. Also on my way to work two days ago the transmission got stuck in one of the gears, and would not shift to the point I had to pull over, turn the car off, and let it sit for 5 minutes in hopes that would fix it. My car is currently in Lester Glenn’s Service department shop for the 3rd time now for the same issue. Each time it has been in the shop for this issue, they have told me that they “Cannot reduplicate the issue” but when I pick up my car it magically works fine with no issues at all for about 3-4 weeks and then the same issues come back. I’ve also been told by the service department’s “Transmission guy” that the “Rough shift is a normal characteristic of this car.” I don’t believe that because the car never did this at all for the entire first year I had the car, and then all of a sudden this starts happening. The service department also seems like they try to rush my car out of the shop because they don’t want to deal with this issue. When I buy a product with a warranty, I expect it to work right, and when it does not work correctly, I expect it fixed right and the first time. I’ve talked to many people who love their Hyundai’s and say they are good quality vehicles, but it seems that there is always a lemon or two out there, and I believe I have one. My next steps if this is not resolved, will be to send a letter to Hyundai Motor Company’s headquarters filing a complaint, and then beyond that take steps to induce Lemon Law.
