The roofing job was researched from January 2012 through the time I signed the Contract with Leverock.  I had at least 5 bids on two different occasions.  He well knew what my expectations were and number one being that he had employees on his staff who did the work.  I did not want a sub contracted job.  I also wanted to be there as this is a rental house, I had to know the exact day they were coming in order to do this.   There is no way to put this except that Leverock has lied in his emails to me both before and after the job.   I was given assurances that were not followed and he failed to live up to the contract that he signed.  As to his complaint about time, he knew the distance from the house to his place of business and all the extra times he had to come back resulted from his hiring of an outside contractor and failing to notify me that he was starting the job until the second day in the afternoon.  The job had a 3 day completion projection.   They started on March 13,2013 in the early morning.  (The gate has the exact time.)  We went over in the afternoon of the 14^th, and they had all the shingles off and almost completed new shingles.  The only workers there were Mexican workers 6 or 7 with an English speaking foreman.  The company was GP Roofing and Construction, 28 Clearview Court, Palm Coast Florida 32317.  The company has a business license with the state of Florida and was in Georgia doing work in November 2012 as they were cited and fined by Osha.  As you will note in one of the most important research I did that “…if you were not there during the installation of your roof then you likely got screwed…”  My guess is that he either subs all the time or he had too much work and farmed mine out to a company approximately 60 miles from here.  He never called me because he wanted to get them in and out and I would never have known except they tore down the gutters.   I kept asking for a date, not to push, but to be assured that I would be on the spot.  I would never have allowed them to start had I been there and this would have had a different ending. 

The $13,600 adjusted price was agreed to by all parties as a settlement to the job as evidenced by the Release dated March 21, 2013 which was given to me on the date of the check which was April 6, 2014. This price assumed that all the contract agreements would be adhered to and I thought that the papers given to me in good faith.  Instead, the mitigation form was worthless as was Warranty form.    The lowest true bid that was received for the gutters was approximately $1000 and I would not have that company do the work.   My son and I were there when Leverock was given his check and my son  had spoken with him on the telephone as well as emails re the adjustments in the price and the paper work needed.  We would never have paid him had the Warranty not been included because there are areas that are not up to par.     At that time I truly did not know what kind of business person he was and now we are screwed.

In summation, The Preferred Limited Warranty provided by Owens-Corning was the driving force in paying the amount of money paid.  It required that an Owens-Corning certified preferred contractor be hired to do the work and that it be done to specific specifications only with Owens-Corning products. He took my check and gave me a document with the understanding that Owens would forward the warranty.  I trusted that is what was going to occur, but as you will note the emails from Owens indicate they had no record of a warranty.  You can also see that they took no responsibility for his actions.   Fraud is what Leverock committed and everyone should be buyers beware.     If this work and effort saves only one person from the hassle and poor workman ship that I received, then it will have been worth it.  Likewise, if Owens provides such poor customer service, then buyers should go elsewhere.

 Stanley Leverock gave repeated assurances both written and verbally that he had qualified, experienced roofers doing the work; instead he hired a company of Mexicans out of a different city. 

I was to be there the entire time of the job: instead failed to give me a date and was 3/4 complete by the time I was notifed and when I arrived, noone there except the hired company and their workers, only one of which spoke English.  Had torn down almost all the gutters which was not to be done.  Their was nothing wrong with them.  Note that Lev-Con also sell gutters and insultation. 

Roof was wavy in one section from lack of knowledge of using the Owens underlayment.  Verfied by several additionl roofers.  No immediate repercussions but with time, will cause problems.

Despite this, with my lifetime warranty, i was willing to split the cost of the gutters, which was valued at around a $1000, 500 a peice and with the warranty any future problems would have been taken care.  I paid him 13,500 and he gave me written confirmation on the warranty, mitigation form, annd release..  Keep in mind that I could have withheld the money and he would have had to go to Court to get it and I would have done that had I any idea of what he was going to do..  He is a smooth liar.

HE EITHER NEVER FILED FOR THE WARRANTY OR HE DROPPED SAME.  OWENS HAS NO RECORD AND WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR VERY OWN CERTIFIED ROOFER THAT YOU HAVE TO HAVE IN ORDER TO GET THE WARRANTY.  hE SAYS I CAN GET IT IF I PAY HIM AN ADDEITIONAL 286.00, BUT WOULD ANYWONE GIVE HIM ANOTHER DIME WHEN HE LIED AND DID NOT FULFILL THE CONTRACT. 

THE MITIGATION FORM WAS NOT COMPLETED PROPERLY AND I HAD TO HAVE IT REDONE AND PAID OUT OF POCKET

AFTER PUTTING IN SO MUCH WORK, I AM SCREWED AND I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER OWENS PRODUCTS AND HOPEFULLY THIS CONTRACTOR WILL NOT PASS HIS SMOOTH LIES ONTO SOMEONE ELSE.
