A few days ago I received a call from Lifeline Industires. The person thanked me for my past purchase of a T-shirt from last year. ( I had) Then they descibed products they again had as before as well as a "basket" of bathroom soaps. I asked about the basket and was told it was a "pretty good size" basket. So I was thinking ok, I could give this as a Christmas gift to someone. The basket cost was $32.00, and I ordered it. I also ordered another T-shirt in the spirit of helping out the handicapped and disabled. The box when it came lists a shipping dept phone number as 251-445-0077.

It also lists the name of the company as United Distributing and Packing. Now let me tell you about this pretty good size basket! You know when you go to Walmart and look for a small, (and I mean about a $2.00 gift) just a token gift for someone? They have those little baskets with a shower gel and a body lotion, with a small soap and a bath cloth? It is about 6-7 inches across, and has a sticker from china on the bottom.

That is exactly what they sent me for $32.00! It was shipped UPS Ground. I also received the T-shirt again. I thought "In the spirit of helping out the disabled". The box was bigger then the needed size so I couldn't refuse it based on a smallsize.

I paid by debit card so they have already received their money! Let me tell you, this will be the last time I help out anyne who uses a telemarketer to sell me something to supposedly help anyone ever again! Seriously, a $2.00 item! Package lists the contents weight as 3 lbs! No, not even close! maybe 1 lb and that is being generous!

The bottles in the basket are not more than about 6 oz and there are two. The soap is about 3-4 oz. The basket is probably 4-5 oz tops. Cloth might weigh 1 oz.

The T-shirt says Support our troops. It is not heavy weight. Thinner material.

Grossly over described products! Do not buy from these people I do not believe they help anyone! $64.00 of my Christmas money went for something I would be embarrassed to give as a gift to anyone I know! Nice basket not!

I was offered the lightbulbs and trash bags as well as cleaning products. No.

Yes, it's a TOTAL ripoff!!!

I live in Mobile, and I know that this is totally a rip-off. This company is constantly advertising for employment (a friend of mine worked there for 2 days) because the telemarketers - from what my friend told me - cannot handle ripping off senior citizens (a big demographic that they specialize in). I've read several other reports on other complaint websites about people not receiving their orders and never being compensated in any way.

Supposedly, the disabled people are helped by being employees, and they supposedly make the items the company sells. So they expect us to believe that local disabled people are making light bulbs, trash bags and gift baskets that all come from China??

If you really want to make a difference in a disabled person's life, find a charity to donate to, find a place to volunteer - but don't waste your money on trash bags, light bulbs and "gifts" that come from China and cost 4-5 times more than they do in a grocery store.

You keep mentioning "helping the disabled," and "in the spirit of the disabled" and thats what you did. You paid for 2 items, and you got them. And you helped with a good cause.  Now try to feel good about what you did.   Geeeessh!!
