Limewire, Not A Ripoff!
AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, August 07, 2006
Too many people are complaining about LimeWire being a ripoff and reporting it here. Unfortunately, there are many businesses(?) that claim to be LimeWire, but in truth, they are nothing but scam sites using the LimeWire name, program and it's connection to the Gnutella network to bilk people with a start-up fee, a monthly fee and with misleading advertising claiming that the whole package they are offering is legal. It isn't.
LimeWire LLC and LimeWire.com are the only genuine items. They do not charge anything for downloading and the use of the basic LimeWire program. There is no month to month fee to access the network. Limewire doesn't even own the network. If a customer went anywhere besides www.limewire.com, they got scammed. www.limewire.com is the *only* authorized website.
A customer should check their credit card statement. Charges should only be listed as "Limewire LLC". If it isn't, then that customer has been ripped-off.
