We purchased a 1999 Ford Explorer from JOE REVELL a sales man for Lindner Chevy in Canon City Colorado. We asked if the vehicle ran and was in good condition. We specifically asked about the engine and transmission. Joe stated" We inspected the vehicle and it is running GREAT" 2 days after the purchase the transmission went out. We noticed that the transmission fluid was way over filled.

We took it back to Lindner and was in a polite way told that we were screwed. Joe Revell Lied to us about the condition of the vehicle just to make a sale. We will be contacting the States Attorney General, The BBB, and also the District Attorney of Colorado.

All Car Salesmen Don't Lie-- Forget the BBB, They Don't Care About You!

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, April 02, 2006

As critcal as I am about the car business and how obvious it is that so many of the people within it are choking on the STENCH of their own fraud and deception, I will tell you not all car dealers have climbed out of the slime pit. There are some who actually live by and practice integrity. So, lets not paint all of them with the same brush.

The BBB??? One thing you need to flush from your system is the "mystique" of the BBB. The BBB is NOT, repeat, NOT a government agency. They call themselves a "bureau" but have NO CONNECTION with any government entity. (Isn't that interesting? They claim to be on the side of honesty and integrity but pick a clearly DECEPTIVE name.) The BBB's source of income (while hiding under the not-for-profit laws) is membership fees. There is example after example of BBB member car dealers which have engaged in continuing criminal fraud/criminal deception. The BBB says these members are abiding by BBB standards! The BBB touts their so-called arbitration process. Guess what? If you have a problem with one of their members who defrauded you, here's the scenario: you sit down with THEIR member, the BBB source of income, you sit down with the BBB negotiator who is PAID by the BBB. Is that a "level playing field"? Bottom line, the BBB is a waste of your time. THe BBB lives on membership fees for which they provide the "BBB stamp of approval" and award "satisfactory" ratings. The BBB will provide the public with statements saying the member agrees to operate by BBB standards of integrity.

OK, BBB...are you tired of me saying this? Are you tired of this excellent website EXPOSING you and your M. O.? How come you won't defend yourself???

No way, a car salesman lied?!

AUTHOR: R - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 01, 2006

Instead of asking the salesman the condition of the vehicle, you may want to have it inspected by a skilled, independent mechanic.

What do you think? A salesman is going to tell you the vehicle you're about to buy is a piece of crap?

I'm certain the salesman did misrepresent the condition of the vehicle. But haven't you heard about car salesmen: They lie about everything.
