I received a letter from the lawfirm of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP, with a P.O. Box in San Diego, CA, addressed to "James Gess". That is absolutely accurate, they are GUESSING my last name.
The letter looks pretty intimidating however the "red flags" are the payment options at the bottom of the letter. I could go to 7-11 or CVS cashier to make a cash payment. The check is supposed to be made out to Contra Costa Superior Court but I am instructed to pay in cash. There is an agency ID# however no description of the fee or fine.
Seeing is how this is the final notice, I am curious as to what happened to the initial notices.
Lastly, the Case Number provided does not exist. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS COLLECTION, STRONG ARM TACTIC, IT IS A SCAM.
