This is not a legitimate sales opportunity.  Start with the fact that, in total contradiction to what the invitation from Lions Gate says, you will not be attending a one on one interview.  It's a cattle call and it begins with the Lions Gate Representative (in my case: Mr. Duff, "Area" VP) showing up 15 minutes late to his own "appointment" and opening his meeting by explaining that he was late because his wife kept him on the phone talking about Christmas presents.  Don't buy it.  It's a "boiler room" sales tactic to see who amongst the "interviewee's" will be unsettled by unprofessionalism.  Get used to it, because this is only the beginning.  The next explanation from our man "Duff" was that this was not going to be a one on one interview as your confirmation email indicated, instead, it was going to be a sales presentation to the "group of candidates". More insulting, Duff was proud to state that he had not read any of the resumes of the people in the room because he "wasn't interested in who we are or what our experience was".  And from there he launched into a 75 minute sales pitch tied to Identity Theft and the avarice of lawyers.  Total fear mongering, partial truths littered amongst outright lies   It was the worst sales pitch imaginable, given by someone who represents themselves as a "certified security specialist" who has been giving this pitch as an agent for Lionsgate for the last 11 years.  Think: Used Car Salesman.  Keeping with his fast and loose use of information, thus far, he spent more than an hour stating things about identify theft and consumer protection laws that only the truly lame could accept at face value.  Then he overlaid that with a slide on income potentials for perpetuating his lies to other consumers and if you did the math presented in his slides (which, apparently 80% of the people in the meeting couldn't do) then the only way his income potentials could be taken seriously is if you also are able to see a potential in winning the lottery. Last but not least, our man Duff then explains to the audience that it will cost you over $100 (principally for the purchase of one of his security products)if you are to go to the next step in the "interview" process.  And then he takes a poll of the room of candidates, asks who would rate this "opportunity" lower than an 8 (on a scale of 10) and those (like me) who are below an 8 are asked to leave the room.  It's a waste of time to anyone who is actually an experienced sales professional.  Don't waste your time on Lionsgate.

I fell for this guy too, but only briefly.
---
The first sign I knew that something wasn't quite right is that they seemed to have rented a space from the "Alpha College of Real Estate," an institution I don't know much about, but one that wasn't labeled "Lionheart."
---
I was very impressed by how clean the Alpha College was.
---
I don't think anyone was late, but there were five or six other candidates.  The only thing I wasted from this deal was 40 minutes worth of gas and a lot of time.
--
Mr. Duff wasn't late and he wasn't rude, but the whole thing gave me awkward vibes. I took the time to do the next step, but the assistant seemed rude and I wasted most of an evening on a conference call.  They seemed to want at least a hundred dollars, and although I'd be willing to pay 50$ for bonding (pretty standard for even a bank teller), I am not willing to be stuck in something like 35$ a month for a job that might not work out,  that is almost as much as my cellphone bill, which at least provides a service.

This is quite accurate though: "And then he takes a poll of the room of candidates, asks who would rate this opportunity lower than an eight.... "
---
I'm not upset, but I'm not signing up either.

Don't listen to the hype

AUTHOR: anonymous - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, December 28, 2009

This is a legitimate business and business opportunity. Mr. Duff was not 15 minutes late and nor did he state he was on the phone talking about Christmas presents. He was running a little behind no more than 5 minutes and he apologized repeatedly for that and assured that was not the norm. There was no confirmation email stating this would be a one-on-one interview. It was a group process in which Mr. Duff simply presented the company and its background. There was no sales presentation to a "group of candidates." Mr. Duff not once stated that he did not read our resumes because he did not care who we were. He stated that our resumes were selected by the CEO in Texas and were forwarded to the Richmond office. He said that he would like to get to know everyone to match the resumes with the person. The author of this report is not correct in saying that "apparently 80% of the people in the room could not understand the math slide." He has no idea what anyone other than himself understood, and cannot speak for them. The product will not cost you over $100. Any successful marketing rep would find it logical to own/use a particular product or service if they plan to market that product/service successfully. Mr. Duff never asked anyone to leave the room after the presentation. We were asked to give a rating based on our interest. For those that were not interested in this opportunity, it was their personal decision to leave. Please do not believe this report, for it is not accurate.

My Mistake

AUTHOR: Allen - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, December 24, 2009

In my original report, yesterday, I mistakenly and repeatedly indicated that the name of the company to whom I was making reference as Lions Gate, although in the heading of the report I do make correct reference to the offending "organization" as Lionheart Assurance Solutions, LP..  It is Lionheart Assurance and Fred Duff (Area VP) to whom my report is directed.  Fortunately, any internet search on Lionheart Assurance will correctly provide a link to this Rip Off report, the content of which I stand behind, completely, now having corrected the only error in my statement.
