Lokey VW Unethical methods and liars ripoff Clearwater Florida Florida

My son, husband and I went into Lokey Clearwater florida to look at a first car for our son. We looked at a 2006 Jetta and after talking with Andy (finance guy) he convinced us that we should go for a cheaper car because our son although has good credit he has no history to qualify without a co-signer. We sternly said DO NOT do a credit check we were assured that only a credit bureau would be pulled. We explained that our son was going to in a few weeks and will be getting a raise and that his credit card Capital One was offering him an open check loan.

They asked if we wanted to do it there again STERNLY we said NO. We did not want any credit run through. As they offered us what was available in our sons price range we said that sounded ok.

They told us to take the car out for a test drive and to take our time and come back to give them our decision. We took it out decided on the way back to wait and as we got into the office the salesman said oh by the way we ran your credit through Capital One and you were denied.

I was outraged because we were there (3) for 30 minutes telling them no credit check. So then Andy a very cocky man told us how there was no other place that would give our son a car. Very angry I left.

I called the GM Scott, to let him know that behind our backs Andy did what we specifically asked him not to. His response was did he sign a credit app. WEll they told us not to worry we had to sign it to get the credit bureau pulled.

So we went to another dealership and were scared to trust them and they too said the same - sign the credit app so we can pull a credit bureau. When they did they saw that Lokey had shot gunned us to 8 different banks and financial services. They agreed that it was low and unethical and that over half of the places they applied to were not pertinent to our sons financial situation. Lokey VW Clearwater, Fl SHAME ON YOU!
