Loren Drotos Michael Contractor who makes fales representations then makes off with your money Toronto , Ontario

In the Spring of 2011 Mr. Drotos (owner of SPACES) who we had previously done business with without issue was employed to build a mudroom at my residence.  He made a number of promises and said the job would be completed to code within one month.  We agreed to a contract with Mr. Drotos and  a specific payment schedule, agreeing to pay him a certain junctures in the project once specific work items had been completed.  Mr. Drotos took about 2 months to get the basic framework and foundation complete due to the fact that he never showed up.  Then he strated to demand more money in order to show up.  We initially complied and he had us write cheques for two different company names (Husky Home Renovations and Outdoor Wood Structures Group) neither of which was the name of the company he actually presented as the one doing the work. 

The relationship soured after 4 months of no work on the part of Mr. Drotos at this point we had paid him about $6,000.  Mr, Drotos explained the reason work was not more complete was that we were being difficult and not agreeing to pay him and he threatened to put a lien on our house.  We paid him another $1000 at this point.  No more work was ever done on our home and yet Mr. Drotos demanded more money both for work and for what he claimed was GST we owed him.  Once again he stated that he actually would and did put a lien on our home.  We severed the relationship with Mr. Drotos.  We did our own investigation and found out his GST number was a fake and he has a long history of taking money from clients and disappearing (check out the many complaints on Homestars.com).  We later had another contractor review Mr. Drotos's work and he deemed it totally deficient it had to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch.  This guy is nothing but a con man.
