I was recently treated very disrespectful at the German City Airport Dresden, i.e., Flughafen Dresden Lufthansa check in.

I am a Canadian resident and have a valid work permit along with a valid Passport I was abou to checkin for my final destination Vancouver flying through Seattle (US). There is currently an ETA  (electronic travelling authorization to enter Canada) exemption for travellers with status i.e., work or study permit coming to Canada though a flight from the US. 

I was prohibited from checking in by an extremely rude and arrogant Lufthansa reperesentative at the Airport Dresden when I firmly but politely explained that I do not need such an ETA due to my status. This dark haired mid aged (40s) lady jumped into the conversation that I originally had with the apprentice whose first language was not German and called her next door representative (one counter to her right) for help. After the dark hair lady approached the counter of the apprentice that was abviously overwhelmed with the task I was yelled at "STREITEN SIE NICHT MIT MIR" "DON'T ARGUE WITH ME" !!!!!

I was so shocked that I could believe what had just happened. My mother, who was waiting in the back approached me and asked what was going on here? I have then explained to my mother that this Lufthansa rep is trying to convince me that I would need an ETA in order to travel to Canada. This conversation was strictly between me and my mother. However, instead of staying out of it the dark haired lady raised her voice again saying that she was NOT TRYING TO CONVINCE ME., THOSE ARE THE RULES" I have then said that I have recently travelled to Canada without such an ETA and that the rules by the CIS would show that I am in fact exempt from the ETA. The dark haired lady then furiously left her work station and refused to help me and left the apprentice alone with the task of checking me in. She instead went to the very far right (two counters away) to trun her back to me and to chat with another co worker while a huge line started to form behind me. 

After circa 30 minutes I was able to direct the apprentice to the approriate websites that validated what I had said from the beginning, THAT I DO NOT NEED AN ETA TO RE-ENTER CANADA!!!

When I was then finally "allowed" to check in my regular sized one item bag, I was told that it exceeds the regular size limits and that it had to be check in at the "oversize luggage counter' at a different location. I have been travelling with this normal size suitcase for 10 years, about 150 times, all over the planet and it was never even close to being considered oversize. I do not know what is going on in Dresden at the Lufthansa check in???? A few years back my parents were trying to check in with a Lufthansa Pilot's case and were refused to give check in permission since it was, according to the Lufthansa want to be "big shot" exceeding the dimensions. I then pulled out a ruler and showed the Lufthansa dude that it was exactly with thhe permittable Lufthansa dimensions. What are these guys thinking, how fricking important do they consider themselves in their borrowed Lufthansa Uniforms--appalling.

I hope Lufthansa takes this dark haired lady aside and has a serious talk with her because this is unacceptable treatment that one would expect from a low budget airline like Rayanair--but I am not payimg Rayanair fares I am paying Lufthansa fares and I expect to be treated respectfully and competent at the very least!!! 

Dieser Bericht bezieht sich auf ein Vorkommnis am Lufthansa Check in Flughafen Dresden. Hier wurde ich kuerzlich beliedigend und arrogant von einer dunkelhaarigen Lufthansa Mitarbeiterin lautstark darauf hingewiesen das ich angeblich eine ETA (elektronische Einreisegenehmigung) haben muss um in meinen Wohnort in Kanada einzureisen. Da dies auf Grund meines Status und Arbeitserlaubnis, sowie Einreise ueber die USA laut gesetzlicher Bestimmung, nachzulesen auf der CIS website, nicht der Fall ist habe ich mir erlaubt zu widersprechen. Darufhin wurde ich angefahren: "STREITEN SIE NICHT MIT MIR!"

Als ich dann versuchte meinen Standpunkt mit relevanten Beispielen zu unterstreichen entfernte sich die dunkelhaarige vom check in counter, drehte mir den Ruecken zu und zog zwei check in counters nach rechts um mit ihrer Kollegin zu chatten waehrend sich die Schlange hinter mir deutlich verlaengerte. Bei Lichte betrachtet ist dies rechthaberische Beleidigung, unnoetige Erschwernis, Fachunkundigkeit, Gespraechs und Arbeitsverweigerung.

Nach gefuehlten 30 Minuten hatte ich dann endlich die AZUBI welche mit der Aufgabe mich bis nach Vancouver durchzuchecken deutlich ueberfordert war endlich davon ueberzeugen koennen dass ich tatsaechlich keine ETA benoetige um nach Kanada, mein derzeitiges Heimatland, einzureisen.

Als ich dann endlich meinen Koffer einchecken wollte der normale Dimensionen aufweist und mit dem ich seit circa 10 Jahren unbeschwert reise, wurde mir mitgeteilt dass dies Sperrgepaeck sei und man es verweigere am regulaeren check in counter einzuchecken. Schikanoeserweise wurde ich dann zum Sperrgepaeckschalter geschickt, mit einem Koffer der nichtmal annaehernd in den Bereich "oversize or bulky luggage" also Sperrgepaeck Dimensionen erreicht.

Meine Mutter die Zeugin des Vorfalls ist, inklusive beleidigender und lautstarker, unangemessener Behandlung durch jene dunkelhaarige Lufthansa "Fachkraft" welche weder der englischen noch der franzoesischen Sprache maechtig zu sein schien empfand diese Vorgehensweise der Lufthansa als DISKRIMINIEREND.

Ich hoffe das die Lufthansa endlich ihr Personal entsprechend ausbildet und schult so wie es sich gehoert und deren Ruf auf den sich die Lufthansa viel Einbildet gerecht wird. 

Dies ist das zweite mal dass ich in Dresden von inkompetenten Lufthansa Mitarbeitern bei der Ausreise nach Kanada aufgehalten werde weil diese die in English verfassten CIS Regeln nicht verstehen auf Grund Ihres schlechten Wissensstandes.
