Please be advised that David Van Patten from Luxotica Motoring Ltd. is the EXACT same person as Geoffrey Hull and Red Carpet Motoring. (DVP is the fake name, GH is the real, legal name). It would be in your best interest to avoid any business with this entity as soon as possible.

***IF YOU HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY DAVID/LUXOTTICA OR GEOFFREY/RED CARPET*** (They're the same guy)

1. You are probably have a listing on Swapalease. FYI - subleasing a vehicle is illegal almost everywhere. Call Swapalease and tell them someone running an auto subleasing scam is using their site for leads. They should know better.

2. He probably told you your vehicle has 'negative equity' in these 'tough market environments.' Tell him you'd rather take it then any false positives from him.

3. He'll act like your best friend until he gets the car, after that - he's scammed you. Say goodbye to that fine German automobile cause it's being shipped to future wanna-be Pablo Escobars.

4. Disregard the website. It's a hoax like he is. He'll say he has a boss, he doesn't. He's the head of an illegal enterprise. The BBBOnline logo is used on the site ILLEGALLY. The BBB is aware of this and is trying to get a resolution. If they try and get one from Geoff, they'll never get one. Good luck to them.

5. Delete his e-mail and follow point 5 below. (Most Important)

***GUIDELINES TO SOME RESOLUTION IF YOU WERE SCAMMED***

1. Revoke your limited power of attorney IMMEDIATELY.

2. Demand Geoffrey to return your vehicle - otherwise report the car as stolen/embezzled (see point 5 below). It's absolutely imperative that the vehicle be recovered. If you have Lojack, put that knowledge to use!

3. Please be advised that Geoffrey does not pick up any phone #'s - he's got the one listed above, and the following on his Blackberry: (310) 880-2240. He won't pick up unless you're one of his mid-level goons/people that he sends cars to, or people he sends to pick up new cars (watch out for Alvin Ellerbee 818-694-2052).

4. File the amount you deserve (up to $5,000) in your state's small claims court and identify Geoffrey Hull/Red Carpet Motoring as the culprit. Any amount in excess of this, a civil lawsuit is necessary.

5. GOOD NEWS: There are plenty of the good guys looking for this THIEF (LAPD, FBI, etc to name a few). If you have any information or have been scammed (latter is likely) please call the lead investigator on this case:

George Zosimo
California DMV Investigations
(818) 266-9988

or

Detective Lopez
Los Angeles Police Department - Auto Crimes
(310) 482-6351

I would forward you over to the FBI, Attorney General or Secret Service Electronic Crimes Task Force, but figure it's best to direct you to the man in charge. Any information is helpful - especially other people that Mr. Hull/Van Patten may have put in contact with you during this whole process.

6. Notify the attorney general. Try the Secret Service ECTF, FTC, BBB, LAPD, your local PD. Feel free to warm call them - they're job is partly to put away sleazebags like Geoffrey Hull/David Van Patten.

7. Remind him he's a THIEF and that you will gladly testify at any trial set-up to prosecute him. People like these don't deserve to steal from other people's hard work and success.

8. As an FYI - the district attorney is aware of this scam artist. Feel free to check in with the district attorney's office.

And one last thing..........

(No it's not a coincidence)

***BELOW IS AN E-MAIL PREVIOUSLY SENT BY SWAPALEASE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS on April 10, 2008 - You can verify the validity of this e-mail by contacting them directly***

Dear Swapalease Customer,

It has been brought to our attention that an outfit known as Red Carpet Motoring has been contacting consumers selling vehicles via online listing services including Swapalease.com on a fraudulent basis. As it applies to lease transfers they are essentially writing their own lease transfer contracts, as opposed to the proper way of transferring a lease under the supervision of the leasing company. In fact this method of transferring ones lease or subleasing is often a breach of contract and may be illegal.

Thankfully, this practice is easy to spot because the only way to properly transfer a lease is through the leasing company with no exceptions. Put differently, anyone who tells you they have another way to officially transfer your lease outside of or without the knowledge of the leasing company should not be dealt with. Note that even though the Swapalease.com New Lease Program process differs from a typical lease transfer, the transaction is handled in conjunction with the lease company.

Please note the following when transferring your vehicle lease that will ensure the transaction is ultimately handled properly enhancing Swapalease.com user experience

1. Contact Swapalease.com when initiating a lease transfer and we will explain how to properly transfer your leased vehicle.

2. Not only does contacting Swapalease.com help make certain you are transferring your vehicle lease correctly, but also aids legitimate lease buyers from an availability perspective.

3. Lease transfers properly executed will always be completed under the supervision of the leasing company.

Thank for your business and please feel free to contact us should you have any questions.
