Their employee, Adam, promised me, in no uncertain terms, our goods would be delivered within three days and that the 26ft. truck they were delivering in would have no problem getting to our new home. Two days before our promised pick up day, I had to call and email to find out when they would be at our house.  In response I received an email stating they would pick up in five days!  After more calls and emails, that was corrected.

At pickup time, the driver immediately goes into a scam pitch..."they didn't count right, you have too many small boxes, too many pictures, too much glass.  They have to use extra packing material," blah, blah.  Can't argue since we have to get moved and on the road, so we tell him to do his best.  Massive wrapping and packing effort begins, a few things get tipped over and/or dropped, no major damage.  Everything is loaded and driver says we should have our stuff in a couple of days...BUT..."remember, we have up to 24 days to deliver".  Ok, Ok, but we have a promise of 2 -3 days, no worry.

We get to our destination (302 miles away) the next day, Saturday.  Sunday, a man with a thick, "eastern european" accent, calls to say they'll be delivering our things later in the day.  Nobody shows up or calls by Monday, so we call Monday afternoon.  Same guy (we think?) tells us he is really close to our place.  Says he has a 70 foot tracktor-trailer, "will that be a problem".  What?? Are you kidding me!?  What happened to the promised 26 foot truck.   Blah, blah, blah...ain't going to happen.  "Here's what you'll have to do...pay us $440 and we'll get a shuttle, load your stuff on it and come to your place and unload it."  "You have to pay cash for this and it's in addition to the $1600 you owe us right now.  When can you be here, we're really close to where you live?"  We ask where they are but are given the run around.  Then the man with the accent says, "if you can't do that then you can rent a van yourself, bring it here, we'll unload our trailer into your van and come with you to unload it at your place, but it's going to cost you $220 more."  "If you can't do that, we'll take the load back to Vegas but I don't know when we will come back"
So, at 6:45PM, we scramble to find an open Uhaul center, just getting the last 26 ft. truck within a 100 miles around.  Then we call to say we've got the uhaul and are finally told the 70 foot trailer is at a trucking center, 4o frigging miles away from us. Now, having rented a truck close to us, we have to drive it 80 miles round trip, at $.79 a mile, costing us even more.

Bottom line, cost above their estimate, $500 plus.  All of their charges had to be paid in cash, except for the initial deposit of under $200; that really leaves us with no recourse to get any of our money back.

Finally got all our stuff (we think...haven't unpacked everything yet, so far only a couple of pieces of glass broken, fingers crossed there's nothing else).

DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.

Who is this Clyde person???

AUTHOR: Adam - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, July 29, 2014

My name is Adam. As a relocation consultant for LV Moving, I speak with hundreds of people each month to offer the moving services of LV Moving. I have never spoken with any person named Clyde. I have searched every record. So, the first thing I have to say is this is totally false and eronious defamation.

The next thing I have to say is that I never "PROMISE" any delivery dates or times, because this is a transportation industry that is effected daily by people increasing their inventories forcing us to get a bigger truck at the last minute, which then causes other people to experience delays along with tons of other delay causing issues. That is why we only speak in general terms and aproximations when discussing pick up and delivery estimations.

People frequently have a new home closing that gets delayed, etc. so when the distance to deliver is calculated, we can say that as long as nothing causes any delays, the trip should only take "ABOUT" BLANK many days.

The only way we can ever promise to deliver on a specific day is to have a guaranteed delivery paid for in advance. Every person is told this and it is in writing on every quote we send, not just the final agreement.

So, whomever this Clyde person is I am sure that if we moved you and things didn't go as planned, it was not intentional. Every now and then a weird thing happens.... our trucks have occasional mechanical issues that our crystal ball just isn't able to foresee very well and then the specifics of a move are changed. Obviously, if a truck is in the shop for repairs, we still need to get the move done and the next available truck is the logical choice.

I recommend that you be as flexible as possible when you move or prepare to pay for a guarantee, so you won't have to.

LV Moving is a quality company with very few issues and compared to major companies (that ALL have issues all the tiime) we are rated as one of the best long distance moving companies in the United States and we do our best to flexible for our customers and only ask that they be flexible, as well! Best Regards!
