We delivered our car to Maaco on 10/16/14 and left the vehicle with the Hazelwood, MO location. We receive a call on 10/20 stating the transmission was broken. It was locked in 3rd or 5th gear. We then notice the vehicle was checked in with incorrect mileage. We picked up the car and the tripometer was cleared too! Someone took the car for a joy ride. Maaco towed it to the local transmission shop but then told us they will not fix it!!!! Maria is the franchisee owner of this location who will now be sued, reported to the BBB, Police, etc.

Maaco Hazelwood is a paint shop. The car was not broken but only needed a fresh coat of paint. Somehow it was driven to the point the manual transmission is locked up in 3rd or 5th gear. Seems to be 5th to me.

Thankfully as an auto repair shop they can defend themselves in a court of law. See by dropping the vehicle off TO BE REPAIRED, they have the right to drive it to determine what the issue is. The same goes for ANY vehicle to be repaired. If it is needed then YOU really cant complain because YOU took It to THEM to be fixed. Part of fixing the issue is determining WHAT the actual issue is. Which means that THEY get to drive the vehicle. What I would like to know is on WHAT GROUNDS do you plan on attempting to sue them. NOTHING in your report, except for the report itself, is actionable on a civil level. Your report however IS actionable due to the slander and defamation WITH NO PROOF!!! You cant just spout whatever YOU wish online. There ARE consequences for doing so. So MAACO DID NOT repair YOUR transmission. SO how are THEY named in YOUR POST? If it was dropped off at a different body shop, then THEY drove the vehicle to acertain the issue. THAT is NOT illegal. Them NOT repairing YOUR vehicle is NOT illegal. YOU can try an dsue but I see this blowing up in your face. Court costs are EXPENSIVE!!!! If you have to retain a lawyer, then you have to pay the othersides lawyer fees as well. So before YOU go forward with this frivolous lawsuit make sure you have a leg to stand on.
