I was notified of a collection by this company Machol and Johannes early last year, around April. This collection was for a high interest credit card to re establish credit from Orchard Bank for $700.00. Needless to say, I called Machol and Johannes immediately and made a payment of $65.00 and made payment arrangements. I was sent an agreement letter that I had to sign and send back and also a coupon book to make payments. I talked to a representative about twice per month and made my payments as agreed. After about six months of making payments I received a notification from Adams County Colorado that I now have a judgement of $718.00. Initially, I thought back to my conversation I had when I first talked to them when they promised no further action would happen if I made my payments. I called them and asked them about the judgement and they referred to the letter I signed when I set up my payment arrangements, which was written in legalese, and I told them that I didn't understand what it met and I was told it was my responsibility to hire an attorney to explain to me what I signed. I felt like this was misleading and intentional as it was explained much different from them over the phone. After four months of attemting to get this judgement removed and receiving yet another letter from Machol and Johannes, I decide to be diligent and attempt to make this debt right and pay it off. So, I call them today and ask about a possible settlement and they explained to me that a settlement was never an option on my account. Instead I was told that I should make another payment arrangement so I could eventually get this judgement satisfied. I made another payment arrangement and paid them $65.00 over the phone. When I arrived home I received a notification from my bank that a large transaction had occurred on my account. I check my account and Machol and Johannes had taken my $65.00 payment and in addition had charged my account for $815.86 which is a large part of my rent for this month. I had a debt, this I understand, it was for a credit card with 40% interest and I just couldn't handle the payments anymore and the high pressure this company Orchard Bank put me through, now I have paid almost double what I owed and a judgement that is still on my credit report. I have good credit now and this is a blemish that I thought I was avoiding by contacting Machol and Johannes to get it paid.
