I noticed my Magellan gps was acting up so I called their customer support ph# which had a recording saying THEY NO LONGER ANSWER PHONE CALLS & said to go to their website. The website asks you to input your unit serial#; which then tells me I have defective software in my unit!

I then contacted them via their customer support email and they responded by saying YES I DID HAVE DEFECTIVE SOFTWARE THAT WAS STILL UNDER THEIR WARRANTY. However the only way they would update my unit's software is to buy an SD card that their patch could then be downloaded to an SD card that then could be downloaded to the GPS unit.

I then responded

1) I don't use or have an SD card

2) My desk top computer does not even have an SD card slot

They responded that is the only way to correct their defective software is to use an SD card.

MAGELLAN HAS NO INTEGRATY & NO VIABLE WARRENTY ON DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

The MIC portfolio includes the Magellan, Mio and Navman GPS brands, making MIC a worldwide leader in consumer GPS products. I've now had 2 of their units die from swollen batteries. Magellan GPS Sold an eXplorist 350H, supposed to have DigitalGlobe satellite imagery capability. Have to use VantagePoint software program to load on 350H. VP will NOT run on WIN 10, tried it on Win 7 and Win XP, locked up ALL computers and would NOT download DigitalGlobe files. Worked with Tech Support ,non-english speaking as first language over VOIP service, and NEVER got it working. DO NOT BUY THEIR JUNK! BUY A GARMIN UNIT THAT WORKS! NOT THIS MICKEY MOUSE CRAP!!
